Thanks for looking at the guitar and commenting on my efforts. Damir, right you are, I don't have anything in my kitchen that looks like that. Thanks Terry, congrats on your efforts- I still need to get on board. Rick- http://steelguitarforum.com/biggrin.gif there is indeed something about this plac...

Thank you all for the kind words, Gene, no offense taken. Thank you Frank. I like your reference to iron- I like it too. Titanium is great but very hard to work with and very expensive. Bill Moore, I have considered that very thing and it is a good idea. I haven't figured out a way to do it because ...

Well B0b, we leased the guitar to RR because we couldn't ask a reasonable price and recover the costs of the ONE that I made. So, in about two years what's left of it might be for sale http://steelguitarforum.com/wink.gif . Hopefully, by then I'll have another one or two built- who knows? Of course,...

Howard, you are a bright 'light' for all of us. http://steelguitarforum.com/smile.gif It was good to meet you (and many others) in Dallas. For those who don't know, Howard was one of our first customers. Thanks for your help, and especially for pinch pitching when I was out to lunch http://steelguit...

The one and only Harmos pedal steel (S13) weighs 25 lbs. out of the case. Since the body weighs less than a pound, most of the weight is down low. Having a wider stance also helps with stability. Robert Randolph has not complained about it dancing around- but just to be sure I encouraged him to put ...

Thanks for your kind words, Andy. I've been off of the forum for a while, (busy) but am happy to be back. I appreciate those who turn their vison into reality. Once it is out there, it has to survive or fail in it's performance and in the perceptions of those who see and use it. Most new things take...

Howdy Jeff- you must have played one of the first models with all of the controls on the end- since then we have moved the volume up to the top. You can see it in the bottom lefthand picture from the Elderly Instruments page- http://www.elderly.com/new_instruments/items/HAM8.htm Since the frame has ...

Thanks, guys. Yup, the Dymaxion steel. I don't mind the ugly comment too much, as Bucky Fuller said- The rose is not beautiful because it worries about style, it is beautiful because it is what it is. We're starting to get some more of these made and out there, and I hope that more of you will get t...

A great thread, all. First, I'll get the known out of the way. If it sounds good, it is good. What we hear as good sound is made (mostly) by the hands of the player. That said, we will always strive to have or make the best instrument possible. As folks above have described, it is the particular ove...

The convention was great, it was my 2nd. My only regret is that I didn't spend more time listening to the music, or jamming afterwards. Next year, I'll correct that- I'll pull together enough tunes to play on stage for a little while, and abandon my booth more often so I can listen to others. This i...

Bobbe, I'm going to take a swing at you on this one. http://steelguitarforum.com/wink.gif The Domland I saw in Denver was Dick Mies' guitar- maybe he can shed some light on this isssue. Anyway, it had a cross strap actuator that was very much like the old Rus-ler I had, which was in every respect (i...

Thanks Howard- I look forward to meeting you in person as well someday. Getting to meet your Benoit brainchild was a good introduction, though! I made an 8 string for Bobby Ingano, and then before I shipped it I let him know that we had just made 7 string guitars available, and had moved the vol. co...
