E9 Lap Steel?
Hey guys & gals. I started out on a single E9 Derby 25 years ago and was taught by Jeff Newman prior to his unfortunate death. I progressed pretty good, but in 2007 I had major back surgery, specifically a lower lumbar fusion which left my feet and lower legs without feeling. After recovery, I r...

Derby SD10 E9 + Nashville 1000 - SOLD SOLD
I am listing my Derby SD10 E9 3+4 for sale. Included is the original Nashville 1000 that I purchased with it, along with my GFI seat and Goodrich L10K volume pedal. I purchased this outfit brand new in the late '90s with the intention of learning PSG, however a death in the family put everything on ...

OK I would like to hear opinions on a subject. I have determined that my back surgeries have made it uncomfortable playing on the front neck of my SD10, so I'm thinking of changing to a S10 without the pad to get the strings a little closer and to help some leg clearance issues. Question - Would it ...

Man it's different
Well last night I finally got everything in place and in tune and sat down on my GFI stool to see if I still "had it". The chords were coming back to me OK however after a while something just didn't feel right. My wife heard me and came in my music room to listen and asked, "Why are ...

I agree
I will agree with Steve's comments. My wife and I attended the Emmylou / Rodney show in Lexington, KY last week and I can say without reservation that the accompaniment and musical companionship between Steve and Jedd was outstanding and very tasteful. Well done!

Going to try to come back
Hello everyone. Back in 1999 I took the plunge and purchased a new Derby SD-10 E9, Nashville 1000 amp, and all the trimmings. Booked a weekend with Jeff Newman and left there comfortable with my capability to learn the instrument. But then, a death in the family completely derailed my music aspirati...

Who was that fellow playing steel with Emmylou Harris?
Craziest thing happened. At the last minute wife and I got an opportunity to go see Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell last weekend at The Opera House in Lexington, KY. Walked in, found our seats just in time, and thoroughly enjoyed the show, especially the skill of the steel player. Anybody know who...
