Steelers at Calgary Stampede

Hi Nigel, It's too bad you didn't stay for the show before and after Bill. Our band played some traditional country with myself on the pedal steel. Bill was kind enough to take a pic with us after his show and the musicians he had with him were very friendly. The only other steeler playing the Nashv...

Timmy, I was just searching for a pick up myself and would recomend looking up schattendesign.com. This is a Canadian manufacturer of pick ups of all kind. I looked at mcintyre's,and fishmans etc. The schatten design is excellent! You may not be looking for a new pick up but it would'nt hurt to cons...

"Nashville to Bakersfield" is still on of my favorites . I use it to noodle or warm up with. I also use the Picking exercise to warm up with that resembles west coast pickin style, kind of like "above and Beyond" sung by Vince Gill.

I made it to ocenside and I'm glad I got there. Rick is great on the steel and it was a pleasure to hear him play. He is definitely comfortable on both E9 and C6 and even played some midi guitar. He made it all look so effortless. Thanks Rick for the entertainment and to kevin for recommending I go ...

Boo: I played your steel parts in the movie

Hey Boo, It was me who was casted as the steeler in the saloon scene in the movie. I just happened to catch word that casting was looking for a steel player for a movie and before I knew it I was up in Calgary shooting this scene. I inquired if I should try to find a steel fairly close to the Era (1...

I really like Clint! This guy is a good front man/ entertainer and a musician and with Hayden(sp?) writes original songs, records with his band musicians-what you hear is what you get and besides I enjoy Jeff's steel playing. I'll listen to whatever these guys put out because I respect what there do...

Hi Phil, You can never go wrong with a Mullen. I'm sure you are enjoying it very much. With the E 9th neck the first thing I always check is where is my E to Eb lever. My preference is to have it on RKL but others have it LKR. I'm sure the latter may be the most common. You probably already know all...

I like to set up next to the lead player. He and I can communicate so much better that way. Set up is Lead player stage left, then steel then lead singer/rhythm, then bass on stage right. One cool thing is that I always set right up in front ( instead of hiding in the corner somewhere),the steel rea...

Ben if you happen to stumble onto something close let me know that would be great. I spent two hours messin around with a sound and it's funny how if you don't have a reference sound to listen to you can only guess what it should sound like. Then when I tried it on stage after a few days of being aw...

POD XT looking for reso "dobro" sound

I found a setting via a search on the forum, and I was just wondering if anyone else has tried to modify it or even come up with something of there own. I'm still searching for something that sounds good to me. Thanks. I'd rather not buy a dobro simulator if I can get away with it with my XT.
