Hey Brett, Many of us on the Forum can help you with the theory. I know what you are facing, because it is a steep learning curve starting out. I've used Paul's material in the past, back when he was teaching by cassette tape. Late 80's early 90's And it was very good stuff. So you already are on th...

Daniel I have been using George L stainless almost exclusively now for over 20 years. Before that I was using D'addario strings. George L's and I imagine Bill Ferguson either one will provide you with a custom set for the same price as a standard set. I have traded with Bill a few times as well. Goo...

I can't say enough good about Buddy's basic C6. To me, it IS the definitive "meat and potatoes " for most C6 work. Buddy's logical approach is top notch. I had to take care with this. In that course Buddy freely admits to having his "pet" things about C6. He defines those very we...

I think this is the reason I used George L strings almost exclusively during the days when I worked 5 + nights a week. Changing strings about every ten days or so. The George L strings, at least in those days, were very consistent. I still use George L but I have not mic'ed any of them in years now....

I feel just like b0b does. If it weren't for 30 years of playing the Emmons set up, I think I would switch to Day. Johnny is right. My ankle naturally rocks to the outside. Which would accommodate with day pedals better. 25 years ago or so, the late Bob Rains tried to get me to switch to Day. We sat...

Jason As there are limitations to all starter type models.... Having demonstrated both of these starter instruments I honestly think the Carter was a bit better overall. My opinion exactly. Many musicians like to rehearse without proper knowledge
Reece had a way of getting to the heart of his students and teaching you the real tools of the trade.

When Reece Anderson taught me, I raised A pedal up quite a bit (Reece’s instructions) and I was taught to find a comfortable anchor spot basically behind pedal b. Individual cds can be found on flea bay.

You can search eBay with just the name Tom morrell and I believe all of them will come up. Numerous sellers of course. Some rather pricey but imho worth it to get the entire collection.

Tommy, I had to make thinner blocks for my emci when I put 705s in it. The blocks that came with the original BB pickups were too thick for the 705. And the cavity is a tight fit. Would be a good project sometime to make two adjustable plates where you could tweak the clearances.

It is absolutely subjective. And absolutely personal preference. A example comparison (yet still subjective) geo L e66 vs bl705. Very similar pickup. But personal experience, the 705 is a little better to my ears. I’m sure there are 10s to maybe 100 ways we could compare all of the popular and usu...
