Brett, If I run a single TRS cable into one preamp plug, I only get a one-sided (L or R) signal to my headphones, in both Pre and post switch positions. Perhaps it's a flaw of the Behringer unit. That is helpful! I didn't realize that most "guitar amps" actually have a built-in "pre-amp" built in.

It also seems like it's the pre-amp that is doing the shaping of the sound, not the amp...correct?
