I just purchased a Guyatone 8 string steel model # HG 308C .. has tripod legs and two pickups . anyone know anything about these steels??? Not sure of the year .What is a good tuning to use with 8 strings. I've only played slide on a string guitar before tuned to open G..

Conqourer Steel
Anyone heard of Conqourer lap steels? I saw one in a store they wanted $300 canadian .It has tripod legs , two pickups , six string.. the repairman in the store told me the pickups were microphonic and would need to be replaced..any thoughts or comments???

Commodore and Mason Steels
I''ve found a couple of steels in a local shop...One is a Mason six string lap steel.$399 canadian.. and the other is called a Commodore six string steel with tripod legs.. $299 canadian... anyone have any info on either of these types of steels or any thoughts?????
