That does seem to be the best option. Still loads of pedal slack, but the pull is somewhat smoother If you have to much pedal slack, you should adjust the pedal stop. There are 2 different systems for that, depending on your guitar. Yes, what I mean to say is there is so much slack that after adjus...

Need help putting 5 and 10 lowers on pedal 1!!!
I tried to move the changes from LKV to pedal 1 (B-Bb lowers on strings 5 and 10) and no matter what I do in terms of changer hole/bell crank/pedal height combos, the only setting that works results in a pedal with lots of slack and a short, hard pull at the end. Is it too small a change over too lo...

That’s how I feel. I understand my leg needing to be at an angle, but with present setup it’s almost impossible for me to compress “a” without engaging lklJim Palenscar wrote:That might be considered normal if it had a zero pedal. Generally the LKL is positioned between P2 and 3 and the LKR 5 1/2- 6" away.

Derby d10 adjustment
Just got a beautiful derby d10. All mechanics are in pristine condition; however, I feel like the lkl lever is mounted in a weird spot. It’s mounted between pedals 3 and 4 while lkr is mounted between 4 and 5. Does anyone consider this to be normal? (for a derby or even in general). I’m pretty new t...

Fixed
I lubed everything that moved and fixed one changer that was not returning all the way. The carter starter is tuning up quite a bit better now. Thanks for the help!!!

Re: Overtuning
So, To be clear, the nylon nut should NOT be touching the metal finger when pedals/levers are disengaged? That is correct. HOWEVER Gravity on the pedals might bring the nut in contact with the finger. If you manual lift the pedal against the slack-eliminating gravity, you should see the nut move ou...

Carter Starter Won't Hold Pitch
If I tune the open E strings and then engage and release the pedals/levers, said strings drift and settle about 8 cents sharp If I tune the rod for the lower "A" with the pedal engaged (string 6) the open G# drifts sharp as well. the higher C# rod (string 5) will often go flat during tunin...
