Any updates on this? Many people need to make travel arrangements 4-6 months in advance. Seems like it's getting close. A lot of things are booked for the summer season already.

Ironically, most of good new country music in the last couple of years has come from rock bands, who know what it is. Here's one example. https://youtu.be/oy-YUosF7Aw A swung 6/8 feel with pedal steel guitar higher in the mix throughout the whole song? I say kudos. I personally really liked this.

People have been saying for 20 years that "rock is dead". I just rebut with, "it's not dead, it just packed up and moved to Nashville". A musician friend of mine was riding with me to (ironically) the music store the other day. He's not really into country. I put a modern country...

I'm not a luthier, but I think the tubes are best for maintaining the moisture content within a certain pre-existing range. for guitars that are really dehydrated, I've heard of luthiers putting a wet sponge in the bottom of a large leaf and lawn trash bag, then suspending the guitar in it (without ...

The OP's question was a good one imo. It probably depends on the song style and what the vocal melodies are doing. I recently heard Tommy White say in a video that he uses a lot of sus chords in an attempt to stay out of the singers way. I'm really curious on other's thoughts are on this (maybe that...

Thanks to you both. The copedent for my original PS must have been a slight tweak from Emmons and I didn't realize it.

Copedent question

I recently picked up an Emmons P/P set up with with this copedent. It's slightly different than what I'm used to, but not much. Is there a name for these copedents? Any idea where they originated or who uses them?

Some helpful replies here (and some just plain hilarious :D ). I think I got to the bottom of it. The bad "farting" sound was with my Fender Steel King with the Fender Custom 15" 4ohm (it's my understanding that this is a JBL D130-F clone made for Fender by Eminence). I picked up a us...

1970 Emmons D10 P/P "farting" sound

I have a 1970 Emmons D10 where the lower notes on the C6 neck are making a farting sound through an amp when plucked assertively (nothing crazy hard). It sounds just like a blown speaker, but after testing a few other things through the same amp and also experiencing the issue when playing the steel...

Interesting. I was considering pairing a JBL K130 with it, but with the replacement cab and speaker, I'll have into it almost what the amp is worth. I guess I could flip the speaker, but I would probably end up stuck with the cabinet, if I didn't like it.

'65 Bassman for D10?

What are thoughts on using a modified '65 blackface Bassman for D10 steel? The amp was modified and upgraded by Gerald Weber at Kendrick Amplifiers in TX. Apparently it was modified to better suit guitar (a couple of low pass filters removed, upgraded transformer, Nichicon capacitors). I'm consideri...
