Chris, If you are refering to the current Twin Reverb reissues available at most large music chain outlets, they're decent to better-than-average steel amps for most situations (and excellent for standard guitar), but you'll need to factor in the cost of new pre & power amp tubes, because the on...

I just bought an RV-3 and agree it's a great, professional quality pedal, much nicer sound IMHO the BOSS' DD-5. Musician's Friend lists the BOSS RV-3 for $149.99.

Best regards.

Over three years ago now, I bought a used '65 TR RI for standard guitar. It's a good-to-great tube amp, but if you really are interested in better tone add in an additional $100-300 USD for better tubes. I put Svetlana 6L6's in the power section, and that helped tons. It's also a very sweet sounding...

FWIW... very interesting! When this topic first started back in mid-Dec, was thinking of replacing my Ibanez Sound Tank DL-5 (400ms) stomp pedal (I used it mostly for my strat and tele through a twin reverb). I knew I wanted to try out the BOSS product line, so tried the DD-5 first. Lots of features...

FWIW... I'll counter Mike Perlowin's comment by saying I own a '65 Twin Reverb-Reissue and a Peavey LTD 400, and the dust cover has been on the LTD for months now. The TR was retubed with Svetlana's, and the LTD recapped with John LeMay's RetroKit. I'm an amateur and only play for fun, so the weigh ...

Got this tab from someone else (maybe Roy Thomson?, but I don't remember) on the forum about a year ago. Anyway, it's not quite how Garcia played the into, but it's a good start, if that's what you're after. Haven't tried the turnaround and 'outro' to this song. Hope this helps! And thanks to the or...
