After reading this, I took out a couple of pull rods and brass pins and I don't see hardly any wear at all on my '96 Carter...One just had a very tiny dent in it, hardly noticeable... I have always kept these lubricated and I think that's what saved them...Just a drop of light oil once or twice a ye...

I played a 1972 Sho-Bud that was without a doubt, every bit as good as any Emmons. This guitar was a D-10 professional.. It's a different sound than an Emmons P/P or any other guitar to my ears,, and that's a fact.. Never underestimate a Sho-Bud...Carson

Personally, I don't think it's a myth...I really don't know how to explain it,, but you know it when you play one...Are they a better sounding guitar,, well I guess that's a matter of opinion..There seems to be a mid-range sound in these guitars that's more pronounced and a depth of sound from the i...

I agree with Donny on this one...I started out with just 3 pedals and no knee levers on a Maverick...That was around 1972..I still only use 4 on my P/P Emmons and 5 on my Carter...I'm not against anyone else having a lot of pedals and knee levers,,but I'm still finding stuff on those first 3 pedals....

I'm with Herb... However,if you are a person who has a nice shop and has the experience to take on such a job,,then go for it if you can get it for about $500....Things like this are a "labour of love" for the instrument and not necessarily done for monetary gain... Listening to it on you-...

Inharmonicity

This could be your problem..Listen very carefully and see if one string beats by itself..If it does,,then you may have a scale problem, a real bad set of strings or something else within the instrument is causing it... Carson

Welcome to the Forum...You'll get lots of advice here from a lot of very knowledgeable people...Personally,,I like the Fender Twin for doing lead and steel...I'm not too familiar with the new stuff that's out there,,and you may be able to find something comparable that's a whole lot lighter...Anothe...

If there is no dirt under the string at the roller nut and your are sure that your cords are good,,then I am going out on a limb and say it's your pick-up...If you raise your F# to G# on the first string and don't have a problem with the volume on that string,,then that should tell you something...I...
