Fender Deluxe 8 string (SOLD)

Fender Deluxe 8 string with OHSC and fender legs I couldn’t see a date under the tuners, but based on the case I believe this is early 1970s. In good working order. $1600 shipped CONUSA https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/21011_476756A06DDC438D9F10521FE3BF50F2_1.jpg https://bb.steelguitarfor...

Quilter Tone Block 202 with custom Frontliner style cabinet

This is an almost new amplifier that I used on two gigs and practice at home. I bought a carrying case to go with it. The cabinet is a copy of the front liner 2×8 inch cabinet they used to make. It has the same dimensions and twin Celestian TF1808 8 inch speakers. The cabinet was custom made by a lo...

I think I found the issue. When I wraped the cord (on several occasions) I was not going over the top of the bracket holding the pinch down screw, but rather to the left of the bracket. I was getting volume consistency issues, and the pot was slipping back to about half position. I watched the Goodr...

RKL and lower back pain

I play a lot of Dominant chords with AB/RKL, and 5 chords with LKR and RKL I get a lot of tension in my right hip as a result, and 3+ hours kills. I backed off the return springs on my RKL as much as I can get away with, and I've taken to playing the Dominant down 2 frets with AB/LKR to spend less t...

Well, I wrapped the cord yet again, but this time I got the cord twice around the left side of the Allen set screw and it seems to solve the issue. So maybe I wasn’t wrapping it correctly. I’ll report back if it fails again

Goodrich trouble

I got a 120 Goodrich volume pedal new from Al Briscoe about a year and a half ago. I get intermittent problems were the volume cuts in half if I tap it wide-open, but if I tap it hard a couple times it’ll kick back in to full volume. I have rewrapped the cord several times, and tried different cable...

Wedge to hold pedal down

I've rigged my 0 pedal to pull up a C6 tuning so that I have a lap steel tuning from strings 4-9 with one change. It works so well I thought it would be quite convenient to develop a way to hold the pedal down so I can do several western swing number in C6 without holding the pedal down. I fabricate...

Brilliant Dale! Perfect. I was getting lost on the second half of the lick from the 6th fret. I was thinking that I had to go back to the 8th fret to finish... I have the copedent to play this exactly as you did. I knew there was a way that he kept this in 1 or 2 positions! I'm so happy you did this...

It's actually a really cool F7 lick and I've been trying to find the best way on either fret 13 or fret 8 to play it. Both involve a quick octave leap from between Eb's followed by a slide to D at the top continuing down the scale to C, then finishing F G A at the end Given the slides I hear, I'm co...

Thanks Tucker

I'm talking about the lick over the 5 chord at 16 seconds in, at the end of "When I believed anything that you said" I've got to sit back down with the steel and transcribe it tonight and look at your thread and see if we're talking the same lick...

Hi Donny I was thinking that he was sliding the bar back and finishing the first part of the lick on string 8, but then how does he complete the lick so smoothly as it goes up to the lowered 2 or raised 5? I'll have to transcribe it when I get home and put it up here.... I know, it's Tom Brumley, bu...

There's a lick in there where I swear it's a drop on 7. I can do it with the bar, but then not pick up the rest of the lick in time or clean. Of course, I'm not Tom Brumley by any stretch

Tom Brumley Copedent question

Did Tom Brumley have a 1 step lower on 7th string? I'm learning Rocks in My Head and I'm pretty sure I hear that on the second steel lick on the II-V progression. If so, I'm wondering what lever I might put that change on if I decide to...

I'm in a band on Steel now doing a lot of 90s female artists' covers. www.BuckboardJunction.com Challenging stuff for sure I'm working through the Buck Owens/Dwight Yoakam book from another band where I play bass, because one day I hope to be good enough at the Mooney/Brumley licks to sound authenti...

Under Your Spell Again

I am coming up on completing my second year of steelin. I’m still learning from the masters. Here’s my take on Ralph Mooney’s solo from Buck Owen’s Under Your Spell Again. I’d welcome constructive feedback and pointers. I may have slipped a little Tom Brumley in there https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=S...

I came up with the Sigler change partially on my own, and confirmed by the forum. I use it on P0 to get a C6 change and play my lap steel licks so I can practice them on my fender Deluxe, and transfer them easily to the E9. Works well for me anyway. I wish I could rig up a way to hold the change dow...

I listened to the forum and got a toneblock 202 and couldn't be happier. The fender tone is great for guitar. The middle switch best for my Mullen with 705 PU. I even practice bass through it with great results. I'm using a Raezer's edge wizard single 10 and it works perfect. I could try different c...
