The Prusa m3 will print Nylon and more. The only issue is getting the right removable print bed sheet so the nylon sticks. There are workarounds but the nylon sheet made by Prusa works perfectly. The tone of my printed pedal steel is excellent with all contact surfaces 3d printed.. I believe the onl...

Thanks, Ian. I don't care for them aesthetically, but I must say the tuning is really stable. I barely have to touch it whereas my Emmons is prey to the ups-and-downs of FL weather. I finished changing strings and mine's not quite as neat as yours, Ian. It's certainly nothing like it was when new t...

John, I used Mohawk Classic Instrument lacquer clear gloss. It is pretty good stuff and it sprays nice. No thinning. After you get a few good coats on, then wet sand and some more spraying until it seems satisfactory to you. Final is light sand with Ultra Fine color sandpaper. Then I hand rubbed it...

I think playing a laptop will improve your attack and feel as a bit of bar movement is all you have got the work with. Pedal steel is too easy to rely on the pedal and levers for changes. You may end up with the best of both worlds.

Yes just replace but if you wished to the best thing would be to take the rod out and clean up the threads as there will be left over plastic in them. A wire brush or run a threading die over it.

Why would this be done on purpose. Let’s look at the theory. Exaggerate the movement and pull the legs toward each other. Assuming the leg joint is rigid the leg movement would be replicated on the top of the guitar, but proportionally less distance ie at the strings.. But in the opposite direction ...

Re: Pedal action on carter

I have to agree on the bellcrank position. I just changed my pullrods to C pedal , I put them on the top of bellcrank (furthest from the cross shaft. Very nice light push tightens the strings. My problem now is the pedals feel mushy. Any help appreciated. Paul I don’t quite understand. You suggest ...

That’s serious maintenance!!! Sounds like the body needs some sort of cross brace to minimise the “seasonal “ changes.

Or maybe a collar on the cross shaft which takes up the slack.

Depending on how much additional tuning you need if it is less than say an eighth of a note then adjusting the pedal travel can be easiest (jon light’s red option) and offer insignificant extra pedal travel.

A picture of the bell cranks for the A pedal is worth a 1000 words. Description like up and down are ambiguous depending on whether the PSG is on its legs or a bench to access the pull train. Also some pedal rods can have alternate connection points at pedal and/or body which will change the pedal t...
