Anyone have schematics for a Kenneth Cain amp? (Sho Bud)
Hello, I'm trying to restore a Kenneth Cain steel amplifier I've found here in the U.K. It's working but there's a bit too much hiss, so probably a couple transistors need changing out and there are a couple other issues. I gave the tech schematics to a Sho Bud single channel amplifier thinking they...

My understanding is that it was also built by Kenneth Cain of Sho-Bud amp fame, but with more finesse and upgraded components. I believe these w...

Depends. What will you be using it for? That D130 might last for decades with someone who plays like Chet Atkins or Lloyd Green. But rock away with lots of bass or distortion like Curly Chalker or Robert Randolph, and it might be gone in minutes. Weight is also a factor. The PF-400 is heavy , well ...

IF it's a D130F then go with the JBL alnico, tighter sound, better and smoother highs, more volume per watt so your amp doesn't have to work as hard and stays cleaner. Also several pounds lighter than the ceramic Eminence. Reconing is not that big of an issue, and a reconed JBL sounds more like an ...

Buy and take a chance on a 2nd hand JBL15” D130’s lifespan?
Buy and take a chance on a 2nd hand JBL 15” D130’s lifespan or get a new Eminence PF400 Paul Franklin for my Sho Bud Amp? I’m in the UK and I’m looking to replace the Eminence ME15-300 speaker that my Cain, (Sho Bud Single channel amp) was sold to me with. I’m aware these were originally made with J...

Thats a very useful tip for spotting a recone, thanks. And I agree, especially with something that old that a recone would be welcome if it sounded good or preserved the character of the speaker,(and amp) .In this particular case however I'd been told by every source I've contacted that if it wasn't...

Sho Bud single channel- Cain amplifier advice
Hello- I'm in the UK and have bought a "Cain" pedal steel amplifier, which I understand is from a short run Kevin, or Kenneth(sorry) Cain made himself, basically a Sho Bud single channel. I have a few questions and would greatly appreciate any advice on restoring it to its' best, original ...
