What is your latest project?

I am working on "Last of the Mohicans" with Doug Beaumier on YouTube.
I am new to the steel so I can only work on one project per month. I
love this song and the way Doug plays it.

What was the first Steel Guitar Song you learned?

My first song was What Child is This?

This discussion should help all new players to try easier songs first.

Commander

I had a Commander like you in the Air Force, Fred. I never argued with him because I knew it would be like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Have a great weekend.

Thank you for response Gentlemen

I agree 1000% that intervals are the best way to play the steel monster! As a new steeler I would like to know the name of every note on every fret. This is not to enhance my playing skills, but to enhance the synapses in my 72 year old brain. :) Thank you for all your comments. Jason Rivet Richards...

Newbie PSG Tip Sheet

I have cut and placed under my strings the Excel file as pictured below. It shows me which strings go up 1 or 2 frets. It shows which strings will go down 1 or 2 frets. Green is up and the other color is down. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2020-03/20298_new_psg_mullen_1.jpg I think that you...

Newbie Learning Fret Board Tip

I am trying to memorize the notes of the fretboard and have come up with an aid for learning the first fret notes, no pedals, no levers. This tip is to help you memorize the notes on the first fret going from the 8th to the 1st string: F G A C F A E G For Grandparents Always Cry First at Every Gradu...

Great Tabs

John has hundreds of truly awesome tabs. I really like that there are words to every tab. I get lost with tabs that have no words. Much easier to stay on track. I highly recommend these tabs for all and especially for newbies like myself.
