Your welcome, Ron. Its a good site, lots of options. The guy that runs it did a lot of work to get it up and running right.

String gauge chart

I am looking to change tuning on my lap steel from a c6 to a G dobro tuning. I used to have a link that showed the various gauges for different tunings, cant find it. Does anybody have a link or can tell me what gauge I would need? 22 1/2" scale length.Thanks.

I like it...except the extended lower bout with the controls. I like them closer to the strings so they can be accessed with out lifting the heel of my picking hand. Otherwise its a beaut.

JJ tubes are notorious for early failures. I've been repairing tube amps for decades and JJ's are some of the most unreliable tubes I ever experienced. In my and my sons amps I wont even use any current production tubes. I started hoarding thubes back in the early 80's when I saw the writing on the w...

Does the noise stop when the volume is completely off? You can narrow things down by pulling the tubes one by one starting with V1 which is the preamp tube closest the input jack. With the amp on and the noise present, pull V1. If the noise stops the problem is in the circuit for V1. If the noise co...

"A 1 meg tone pot is not going to do much in the first 75% of rotations from full up clockwise." This would be correct if it were an audio taper pot, but its a linear taper according to the Seymour Duncan schem. I suspect someone changed the original linear pot for an audio.

There are many good sounding stomp box reverbs but for me nothing beats the sound of the tube unit.Since tone and what sounds good is totally subjective you may very well find a stomp box that does it for you. I just looked at some on Reverb and cant believe the prices.I built one for myself and one...

I go with Jims school of thought. My oldest amp, a mid 60's Ampeg Gemini still has the original Bugle Boy preamp tubes.I mentioned it before that I have about 150 NOS preamp tubes and about 50-60 used preamp pulls and there is no need to use them in this amp.I had it since 71 and it has been fully ab...

I had that same head, 65 Bandmaster and a similar looking cab back in the 80's.Was a blonde tolex cab with an EV speaker.I put a master volume in the head. That master was pretty much useless, it was always on ten.I eventually took it out.
