I am new to the pedal steel guitar world and would like any advice or suggestion for purchasing a preamp for EQ and volume control. I have just bought a Carter D-10. Thanks.

Theory on C6 playing on a Carter D-10
I am new to the forum and I'm purchasing a pedal steel from a member here at the forum. I know theory very well and would appreciate any article that would help playing the C6 neck. I've looked at the Emmons and Day concept with the first three pedals on the E9 neck and it makes sense. The theory fo...

How to apply two note chords.
Are there any rules for picking the best two notes for playing chords normally using four to five notes? I know theory pretty well but having played the guitar for 50 years I've never had to contend with this concept. Any information or reference material will be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry everyone, I believe I had a bout with covid. I got my other tuner tray fixed but still the single toggle switch does not activate all three necks at the same time. I'm a bit gin shy to start messing with the wiring since it is so old and at this time everything works. Down the road when I feel...

Thank you Stephen and Bill for the schematics. Even though I don't have the Stringmaster perhaps one of them will be how my Console is wired. Unfortunately, I am in the process of rebuilding my tuning trays and the one furthest from me doesn't have any strings on it. But in one of the positions the ...

I have a 1954 three neck Fender console and need wiring info
There is a single toggle switch and I can't determine what it is supposed to do. Someone thought it was supposed to activate all three necks but that doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone know what it does or know where I can find a schematic of the wiring? Thank you.

I'm new to the forum and need some information
I recently bought a T-8 three neck console Fender steel guitar and would like to try and date it, it has #9901 near the output jack. I believe it was made in the early 1950's. Also, would like suggestions for a volume pedal? Thanks so much.

This is a link to the exact steel guitar I have. It doesn't look like the Stringmaster tuning machine tray would work. Does anyone know of a repairman that would work on these or is there any after market trays available. Again thanks for any info. https://reverb.com/item/34715008-1953-fender-lap-st...

Thank you all for the information. It will sure help and I will put up some photos. I believe I saw on this forum that it has a butterscotch finish and does have the trapezoid pickups. Unfortunately I discovered another tuning key slips, so two of the headstocks have this problem. On the first heads...

I recently bought a 1950's three neck Fender console steel guitar and there is a single two position switch, what is that for, and the non-volume pot, what is it for? Also can a date of manufacturing be determined by number 9901 found by the input plug. Any info would be truly appreciated. I will tr...
