I have not used the 2nd gen. Hotz Potz but I have installed a half dozen or so of the 1st gen. I suspect they are the same 470K ohm electronically, just the shape and tab config. This most recent model looks like an improvement over the older one having the terminals moved to the more traditional co...

Thanks Dave. I have the pair priced at less than what one lists for. Not much love around here for these Neomags for some unknown reason. I think they sound really good and like 'em just fine, but I've committed all my settings and stuff to 12s, so just not using these. At 8# ea., they can be shippe...

I really can't help with the prices...I just wanted to say I had not heard that Lee passed. His death should be posted in the Gone Home section. We did a few deals together and shared some communication otherwise. I only met Teresa briefly when we did a couple exchanges in La Grange. Great guy. Sorr...

I've forgotten the exact number. I think I have that info somewhere just can't put my hands on it.

It was just over 500 starting in 1989 for about 20 yrs. until his passing in 2009. Bobby Callaway finished up the remaining 4 or 5 under construction.

Thanks for your input Bill. I've found a source for nylon standoffs that I can probably use as spacers then use a proper size nylon tuning nut to make up the space. I was just trolling for some original parts. According to some articles I've read, there were 4400 of these guitars made in 75 and 76 s...

How many weeks is a few? Is this string longevity abnormal for your guitar? It's not unusual for 3rd strings to break after 3 or 4 weeks, some sooner, depending on how much you play and the guitar you are playing. Some guitars break more strings than others. Dunno why. FWIW, I concur with the polish...

I've seen this same guitar on ebay and Reverb for a while. Listed @ a ridiculous price along with a D10 Bud and some really high priced other gear. The seller is listed as haightashburymusic and located in California. I'm guessing this is the legitimate owner. There's a crook on every corner. This i...

Yeah, I'd say so. I think I got mine in 96 or 97. It still had the dual fx controls, but not the amp switches on the back like your photos and the description in the latter pic. First I recall of seeing ads for these amps was early 90s at the latest and possibly in the early 80s. GD placed print ads...

It's an early one. I'm not sure if the "Stereo Steel" letters are original to the amp, but they are different from the graphics on the later ones. I bought a new one in the middle to late 90s. It had the dual controls for effects like that one. GD did away with the dual fx controls and onl...

Hook end has 2 bends in it. Too much trouble to get right.

It's going to be this cut and couple method if I don't find shorter rods soon.

I appreciate your input Henry. I have a full complement of threaders, rethreaders, chasers, taps and dies and other shop tools. I work on pedal steels and cut threads on rods quite frequently. I'm just afraid that there's not enough material for a good fit for the 10-32 pedal connector. Wish there w...

Nope. Sho~Bud rods with rolled threads are too small to hold a 10-32 cut thread. Pedal rods with cut threads measure .187 but these rods with rolled threads measure about .167 diameter. Not enough material there for a 10-32 thread.

I don't offer advice, I can only tell you what I do. As mentioned above, I tune the strings with A&B pedals down so that the E string is straight up on the meter. Then I tune the pedals and all other strings and changes to that. Anytime I play with a group of musicians, I always get them to play...
