No picks for me either, although I don't disagree with what the pro-pick users say.

My 2 cents about feel of different string spacings is like driving a different car or bicycle than what you're used to. Always feels odd at first but the more variety the less of an issue it soon becomes. I'm only 2 years a pedal steel player, but have worked weekends playing guitar, bass and string...

.. oops sorry folks, my mistake. Gary and I were just talking in private conversation about the nice people in our government and shipping companies and how little we pay to bring stuff across the border :-)

Agree with Larry - I had that issue with a (non-steel) archtop guitar with vintage BJB pickup. Couldn't hear anything from top string so changed to one gauge heavier and problem solved.

I appreciate all your responses. Thanks!!

Yes maybe because of bad eyes it works for me mainly in going through the book with tabs and music - I've even lined up the 6th string line in the tabs with my orange G# guitar string making things easier for me.

Color string

I know it sounds very amateurish, but does anyone else out there use color strings to keep on track? I've been using a bright orange G# (6th) string for the past year and its made finding my place much easier.

Greetings to All! My first post here :-)
Hi Gary,
I'm pretty sure that the dark wood is solid 1" thick drop dead gorgeous Brazilian rosewood. Its now on endangered list and many consider it the finest tonewood for guitars. Nearly impossible to find for a new build these days.
