Try switching to Ludwig drums. Ludwig drums have a more mature sound than Pearls since Ludwig drum shells are tighter and produce a sound with more (tree) rings.

You did some serious fiddling in the solo and ending. Mighty fine listening.

The South African distributor for PG Music has some nice prices. Plus, purchasing from a distributor you don't have to worry about receiving a bad download. https://joannecooper.co.za/band-in-a-box

Hey Ken, Don't worry about it, maybe I should have been more clear describing my intent for starting the thread. I had a Teac A-3340 4 track tape deck with simul-sync recording capability back in the mid seventies. Between the front and rear connections it could handle eight inputs at the same time....

Some of the benefits I recognize for hardware based DAWs are: stability, learning curve, cost, portability and an all-in-one configuration. Software DAWs have the advantage of continuing development, the capability to use loops and plug-ins as well as use of the computer keyboard, screen and process...

Really good results can be found with DAW only work. IMO the only advantages in hardware are seen when: Hardware is significantly better for the desired sound Latency offsets for the time it takes to go back out then back in are compensated for during mixdown Tracking with hardware is really benefi...

Recording - Hardware Versus Software Based DAW

DAW stands for Digital Audio Workstation. A DAW has tools you can use to record, edit and mix audio. DAWs can be dedicated hardware or a computer program with an audio interface.

Do you use one or the other or both? What do you see as the benefits and deficiencies of one over the other?

Excellent photo Ronald,

Funny story, when I first entered the thread I only saw the top half of your post so the legs and pedals of your steel were not seen until I scrolled down. My first thought when I saw just the cover was the photo was going to show a restored 80's Kustom PA speaker column!

Jim, thank you kindly for your efforts and for taking tim to make screen grabs. I'm not seeing the same display as your version and honestly, it's feeling confusing as compared to just outputting a rhythm track and playing over it. I'll dive in again when I can get the patience to do so. Very much ...
