I believe the Trapezoid pickup models were completed into 1955. My Deluxe 8 is a 55 with the block fender logo, and I’ve seen deluxe 8’s with the spaghetti logos from 55.

8 string is the standard for most Western swing tunings, especially from Bob Wills and Asleep At The Wheel. I’d say go for a west coast brand guitar (Fender, Rickenbacher, Magnatone).

I feel limited without having at least 7 strings. Most of the melody I play fits over those strings, however 8 strings are more common and then you have more options. If the opportunity presents itself consider everything but I don’t see a point in seeking out a 7 string for a particular reason ex...

Hatton Case is much lighter than the originals and looks fashionable. Otherwise SKB and foam is a good light option.

I’m going through it right now, you don’t have to change strings everytime. There is the first section starting with open A, those gauges work for the tune until B11 when you put on the strings that can be retuned to C6. The low string in some of the E tunings can be replaced or repitched, it’...
