Re: pick and bar holder
I use a 1 inch {25mm} bar. do you make one of those?? Very sorry for not replying sooner, Cliff. Lost track of this thread. But thanks to Tommy reaching out, I do offer 1-inch bar option now. See the store link. Also, so glad to see people are enjoying these. As one of my local steelers told me &qu...

I knew there were cat people in the steel community :) Sure, if you purchase two I'll refund you $4 via paypal (sorry I don't have a more sophisticated way of doing this). Steel guitar forum special! Edit: I should also say that the adhesive putty (included) is actually pretty easily removable and r...

Fender 1000 "jazzmaster" style 8-string steel pickup covers.
Like Fender Stringmaster 8 style covers, nobody makes the covers for these unique 8-string pedal steel pickups, so I designed a recreation and now offer them from shapeways, who can 3d print and ship them. You will probably need to sand them and treat with a plastic polish compound to achieve the de...

Yes, as a matter of fact. Shapeways can offer more colors. I updated the listing and added all the plastic colors they offer, so go crazy. There are also metals and other materials but it's insanely expensive. If there's something in particular you're looking for let me know and I can add it. But no...

Thanks for the report.
I have updated the original shapeways product listing to include Medium (lollar, fender) and Large (seymour duncan) size options. Also the new price on shapeways is $17/ea

Custom bar and pick caddy
Curious as to how folks generally store their bars and picks. I tend to need everything in front of me ready to go otherwise that's one more deterrent to practicing. But keeping picks and small items on any surface at all is problematic in my household as I have a cat that enjoys repeatedly testing ...

Just an update: Bill has tried several variations of my pickup cover and confirmed that the original sizing is slightly too small for Duncan reissue pickups. I heard from another source that the original sizing is fine for Lollars. I uploaded a new model with thinner walls which should accommodate t...

Victor, that's very amazing and helpful, how exactly is the syncing done, and how is accurate tab notation created? Think pedals and levers could work with this? Sync'ing is as good as you are at tapping in the tempo. Tab accuracy is as good as YOU are at entering it. Perhaps this should be explain...

If folks really don't mind the lines, I could probably match that quality on my own personal 3D printer and supply these for cheaper than Shapeways. But they do offer better quality and not sure I want to get into the production/fulfillment business. The lines can be oriented diagonally or horizonta...

Hi Bill, I didn't consider that the reproduction pickups might have different sizing. If this turns out to be an issue, I could also adjust the size of the cover design. I have a sample from shapeways I'm not using right now, if you want, maybe I could send it to you and you could confirm the fit be...

Fender Stringmaster T8 pickup cover reproductions
Replacement Fender Stringmaster D8/T8/Q8 pickup covers are notoriously hard to come by: https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=246071 I recently got into 3D printing and design and a bandmate and steel guitar master Lee Jeffriess asked me if I could make one of these, turns out... I can! 3D...

Soundslice transcriptions: boot heel drag, teardrop
Hey gang! New steel guitarist here. Coming from the gypsy jazz world, transcription is a big thing. There's this neat website called soundslice that lets you sync tablature to youtube videos and I talked the creator into including some steel guitar tunings (starting with E13, A6 and C6) Check out so...
