Just aesthetics, if excessively long, but no big deal.

Thanks! That Grover from Allparts fits snug over the Guild nut.

Extension Nut Suggestions Please?

Howdy from Upstate NY! All the typical available nuts are a little long, over extending the fretboard edge of my Guild P240, a pretty dull Spanish player, but a sweet lap slide. Is there a stash somewhere of nuts a little smaller than 1 7/8" wide, (inch and 5/8 E to E)? Big thanks for any leads...

Won't go so far as to say it's a dumb question, but what is the function of the 3rd knob on this Epi I bought?

Good info, y'all. Nice deep sound, Doug. Just bought this sweet ol' Epi. Can't wait to try the bass amp experiment. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-1930-039-S-EPIPHONE-ELECTAR-LAP-STEEL-GUITAR-WITH-ORIGINAL-CASE-AND-EXTRAS-/292611516695?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&n...

Lap Steel Through Bass Amp

I recall reading a discussion about someone playing this way. Just can't find where. Was it here? Anyone have an opinion or a tale to tell?

Thanks Frank. You're a mensch. Ezzee bar is on my list, but I like the glass tone too. I'm liking this old Epi, but almost went with this Gretsch... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-Gretsch-Jetliner-lapsteel/273290251001?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 Wonder if I'd notic...

Somebody, Anybody...Get me off on the right foot.

Hey y'all. I just bought my first lap, a very cool '39 Epi Zephyr. The strings on it are old and worn smooth, but they played. Being dopey about this guitar universe, I didn't even think ahead to have strings ready, so I slapped on some slightly used Martin Tony Rice steel (no bronze) 13-56 acoustic...

Howdy. Just joined after buying this little gem, but I mostly flat pick acoustic country blues/Americana stuff. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Epiphone-Lap-Steel-Electar-Zephyr-w-Original-case-Clean-500/302653517395 I've never considered buying a lap steel, just always played an old chunk of wood built by...
