Thanks Chris. Lynn Stafford was kind of enough to provide me with this official wiring diagram.

Thanks Scott. I found a faulty joint and repaired it. This along with the ground wire seems to have sorted the problem out to some extent.

I will retest once the guitar is fully setup, and if things still seem a bit dodgy first thing I will do is test it direct, without the switch in the circuit.

Any Pedal Steel players in South Africa?

The only guys I know of have gone home.
I'm based in Cape Town, and would be happy to find out I'm not the only one.

Greetings

Emmons M5189 Humbucker wiring

The guitar I'm working on has an Emmons Pentad pickup installed (two M5189 hum bucking, among other things). My issue is I'm experiencing more hum from the pickup than I would expect, in all 5 positions. My question is: does the braided shielding covering the 4 pickup wires ground the pickup via the...

Correction: after cleaning, I discovered there was an additional thinner washer between finger 10 and the bracket - so I'm thinking of putting one of the washers between finger 1 and the bracket between fingers 1 and 2.
This way everything would be balanced (assuming this is what one wants ...)

Emmons changer washer arrangement - correct?

Hi folks, I'm cleaning a changer on an early 80's Emmons PP. While disassembling I noticed that the washers were arranged as indicated in the photos. What strikes me as odd is that there is no washer between fingers 1 and 2. There are also more washers next to finger 1 than finger 10: finger 1 has 4...

Thank you kindly fellow Forumites, and Dr Teeth.

I'll post the serial number once I get sent a shot of it.

I reckon I'll probably jump on this and move everything over a slot.

Never played a pp, only experience I have is playing a modern GFI. I'm certainly looking forward to it.

Emmons S10 - which model/year, what you think of It?

Hey folks I am considering acquiring this Emmons pp S10 sight unseen. Anyone know what model/year it might be? The pedal and lever positioning seems to be shifted - would it be a major undertaking to make this "standard"? I enjoy getting out the elbow grease. Appreciated. https://bb.steelg...
