Pedal Steel Thumb Impact Rhythm

Done on C6th neck using string 2 lower and 4 raise, but it's more about the rhythm than the chord.

Thanks Al, that's what I needed.

I use the real book for jazz gigs, and it's important to be able to pull up a song if someone calls one out. The light weight solution would be an iPad, but for my current budget I went with the hard copy version.

It fits, but I have a heavy song book that requires extra support. Tom recommended adding a "shelf" that will rest on the top of the guitar, and asked for this measurement.

In Search of Owner of New MSA

I have a new MSA legend D10 on the way, and need a measurement for my tab rack. If you have a similar guitar, could you take this measurement and give me the length? It is the distance from the top of the leg to the top of the guitar: https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2020-03/17921_1211201028_H...

Extra Heavy Tone Bar With Cutaways

I have two bars currently, a round dunlop 921 (3.75" X 1.00", 11 ounces) and a shubb sp2 with cutaways (2.875", 5 ounces). Really what I want is the shape/ergonomics of the sp2 with the weight of the dunlop. Does anyone make extra-heavy cutaway bars? I'm thinking the inside would need...

Sorry about the limited information folks, and thanks for all the informative responses nonetheless. I wasn't able to find the exact model of the guitar. I inquired with the person I purchased it from so I'll hear back on that in a bit. Hopefully I can get the make/model of both the guitar and picku...

Fred, do you know what the red/black/white/expose metal cables would be? I agree that improper grounding would be a likely culprit. mtulbert, I can't do too much about other EMFs unfortunately since I'm in an apartment. I did try and use some aluminum foil to make a rudimentary EMF shield, although ...

I did a bit more debugging given your suggestion. My guitar is hooked up to a USB audio interface which connects to my computer. The computer is an obvious source of EMF, so this was my first suspect. Earlier I connected my bass to the same cable as my guitar and noticed no buzz, so I was already do...

I'm also just generally confused about this wiring. There are two cables coming from the pickup, which split into 4 sub-cables. The red and black cables come out from the housing, only to be paired together, forming a loop. The white cables are soldered to metal paddles on both sides (one for each s...

Diagnosing Unwanted Buzzing

I've been getting this buzz coming out of my pedal steel: https://soundcloud.com/gustebeast/guitar03/s-azHoT When I plug in my bass, the buzz goes away, so I'm pretty sure it's coming from the instrument. My guess is that it is coming from either the pick up, or the wiring from the pick up to the ja...

Thanks for the help guys! Envelope filter seems to be it. I'm still pretty new so I'm currently using a DAW for amp and pedals, I'm gonna see if I can find a digital effect to do this enveloping, although maybe in a few months I'll go for a real pedal.

Can Someone Help Me Identify this Effect?

https://youtu.be/w9XDUBDMNuk?t=29 Bela is using it on his banjo, it kind of sounds like a wah pedal but he isn't using one. Perhaps it is due to the instrument's unique tone, but if it is an effect, I feel like if I had a name for it I may be able to find something similar for my pedal steel. Thanks!
