Oahu Iolana

Thanks for that information. I found the serial number X25409. Which tells me it was built in 1950. So, my parents bought it used. I think we paid $250 (based on faulty memories). Oahu Iolana

How can one determine the model of an Oahu Iolana? I have the one pictured but cannot find a model number. It was purchased in the late 50's, I think new.

stringtone changer

I am new to the forum and just ran across this subject. I took steel guitar lessons in the late 50's from Ron Dearth in Lima Ohio. He told us that he invented these and showed us an early prototype. I have on a double neck Oahu Iolana with one on each neck. One for A, E, etc and one for C6, E7 etc.

Knutsen?

I was shown this instrument and told it was a Knutsen. Can anyone identify? This is my first attempt at attaching a picture. Hopefully it works. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1712/17782_Knutsen_body_1.jpg https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1712/17782_Knutsen_head_stock_1.jpg In another ...
