Hi folks: anyone have an old Gibson lap steel for sale, something like a 30s EH-100 or EH-150, preferably located in Canada (hate to do the import thing)?

The original all tube Traynors from the 60s and 70s are great amps. After Peter Traynor left the company (or got bought out or whatever) the "new" Traynor started pumping out lousy solid state amps. These days the Traynor name is back on all tube amps, which again are nothing like the old ...

This guy has no idea what he's talking about. I bet he thinks the tube is like a light bulb, the brighter it is, the harder it's working. Fact of the matter is, Blake is right: a 12AX7 with the correct heater voltage will barely light up. And the 12AX7 NEEDS to have the right heater voltage (12 or 6...

I've used the "Winged C" (formerly Svetlana, NOT the same as the currently branded Svetlana) 6L6GC for years and years, sound great and never had any problems with it. I'd love to use NOS, but the 7581As that I like are now $250 a quad (used to be $100 10 years ago) and the Winged Cs are $...

I don't think it's a Fender specific issue either. If you abuse any amp (running a tube amp without a load is abuse) it's bound to get messed up. A little bit of care & common sense goes a long way. In any case, I would get the amps serviced & up and running properly (from a reputable tech) ...

There should be no sound quality degradation at all with a Sprague Orange Drop after 10 years. These type of caps are basically plastic wrapped around two pieces of wire - there's nothing to dry out as with an electrolytic cap, which are basically two wires stuck inside a can of paste.) However, aft...

It sounds like the output of the adapter is not regulated - that is, it does't have built in circuitry that will clean up the power and produce a steady 9V all the time. Even if you can get it to spit out somewhere in the region of 9V, you might get alot of noise & hum when used with the Matchbo...
