Solutions for assorted Steel Guitar problems.
I bet that if you was to ask Mike Headrick (i.e., Mike Headrick Products - steelfodder@aol.com - 1-423-364-9061) on getting a recorded product in respect to your question, he would have it or, point you the correct direction to get it.

New Mike Headrick Products.
I have gotten a couple new products that Mike Headrick has produced in his South Pittsburg, Tennessee Studio which I can attest being a great addition to your steel guitar music listening and playing pleasure. Christmas is approaching quickly and you need some “West Coast Christmas Steel Guitarâ€...

Going Back To Basics With E7.
Going back and working on some sounds in the tuning of E7, for 8 strings. This old tuning was the one I started out in 1948 on a 6 string lap and for the longest time, I thought this was the only tuning of the steel guitar. I have made a video of a short tune I am putting together and without rhythm...

Innovation!
Got some real smart guys. Some of these innovations amaze me. The best I ever did was build me a dual neck 6 string many years ago that I played Hawaiian style music on. Some of these I see that you guys come up with really impress me. Keep coming up with new ideas guys.

That’s correct Michael! I made the platform to put it an other components that I plan on installing. I used the FAB for a long time on the floor with batteries and my batteries run down quickly so I knew that I needed an AC power source for the FAB and any other equipment that I install in the fut...

Monitoring device help!
With my hearing starting to fade, I need away to monitor my steel playing when playing with a group. At times I can’t always hear what I am doing let alone know if my volume is pleasing or not. Does anybody have any recommendations to any RF devices for the ear with electronic pickup of the music ...

Francisco, don’t think your time is wasted in the area of E Tunings. The tuning has been very true over the years to new players specially, Lap six string. I personally wrote in one of my articles that I ignored my E7 roots for many years and lately I have been getting some great sounds out of my ...

Upgrading a small amplifier.
I know from past experience that new students of the Lap Steel are limited in funds. Sometimes it is a stretch just to pay for the steel, amp, picks, and lessons. As one furthers in their ability to play they want better sounds so I have found, upgrade your amplifier the cheapest way you can and giv...

How unique the multi steel stands are. Why not however, I agree that your arms may need the stretch. In the Alabama Hall of Fame has a Steel Guitar made on a revolving block of wood which just requires a flip over. I noticed on one of reply’s that a picture of this type of steel in this configurat...

Good start! Melbay is a good place to be and of course they are using the E7 tuning specially for the 6 string. It seems that is a starting place for a lot of lessons however, after years and years of my neglect to the E7, I have returned with some new findings and determination to write some new so...

Tuning in E7, 8 Strings
Haven’t played much in E7 in so many years. Took all my lesson back in the late 40s and early 50s in the E7 tuning and didn’t know there was any other tuning to speak of for years however, I have discovered what I think is a unique and pretty sound and have put some songs together. I am not sure...

Working on more Hank!
My continuous work on Hank Williams music. Can't seem to get far away from it. A little of "My Sweet Love Ain't Around", just another one of Hank's tunes.

Pursuing new Steel Guitar arrangement to Hank Williams Music
Being a lover of Hank Williams music I am always pursuing new arrangements to apply my Steel Guitar to. I never seem to get satisfaction on what I do when it comes to Hanks music. Of course I guess it could be my singing, silly me! The Hank Williams Fest is coming up soon! I made a YouTube of my lat...

Thank you Ken! I like to see what our steel guitar pickin friends are doing to have a little fun with our chosen musical instrument. I think far too often players don’t believe they are good enough to air their playing. We’ve all been down there wondering if anybody cares how we do or, if we’r...

I never get tired of seeing/hearing that clip on the reunion of MO singing with Mike on the Steel. My goodness that is good and country. Can’t get enough of that. Working on a production in my home studio.

Hear a little steel in Nashville.
If your in Nashville at the right time, check out the 3rd & Lindsley Bar & Grill. You can catch the Time Jumpers there frequently and they have great food. It's easy to get to from I40 and get back on the interstate. Of course, Vince Gill with Paul Franklin playing the Steel Guitar is an abs...

Your take Mike on the new CD was right on the mark. Lloyd and Jay Dee knocked this one out of the ball park. I went up to Nashville on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 and that “Journey To The Beginning†kept me company all the way and all the way back. That CD is most certainly a sweetheart and will b...

The Clinesmith Cast Aluminum Lap Steel Sound!
Dave, that YouTube on the “Clinesmith†sounded great. I have never heard a Clinesmith before and assume that it has a wonderful sound as demonstrated. However, I am sure that the amp he used added a boost to that great sound.
Of course the artist obviously made it sound great! Who was it?
