Wow, thanks guys for all the info. I'll look into those Epson printers. Right now I am still using an HP, but now and then, it just says "You need a genuine HP cartridge".....then it will not print. That is what is in there, but it must want a "genuine NEW" one. Big rip there!

Jack,
What are you using for a printer? The home ink jet with the cd printer option seems to have vanished. The stand alone cd printer is too much money for the
small jobs.
Thanks, Bruce

I thank you for the phone call this afternoon and letting me know Billy.
This was a shock to me as well. I remember the wonderful times the three of us had playing music together from Arkansas to Texas. He was indeed a great steel player and a great friend.

BIAB tutorials for Mac

I bought the latest BIAB, 2010.5, and sent for Rick's DVD. It is great!. It got me jump started form a dead stop! To learn deeper aspects, I have watched many of the tutorials on the PG Music web site. The differences between Mac and PC BIAB are said not to be so great, but many of them are to me. I...

I got a reply from the software writer. He said I should have no trouble with Boot Camp and Windows. His confidence tapered off on the other possibilities.
All I gotta do now is make the jump! We'll see.

Windows on iMac

I went to a Mac about 3 years ago. I would like to use my old recording software that is PC only. IF I used Boot Camp and installed Windows 7 for the sole purpose of using this software, would I need the AV protection that I used to have? The only time I would go online would be to download the soft...

While Bill was not a member of the SGF, he certainly was a member of the steel guitar brotherhood. He died of cancer yesterday. I played with Bill in the Rio Grande Valley for five years until last year when his health would not let him spend the winter in the RGV. He was from the Emory, TX area and...

backup iTunes to external HD

I thought this would be an easy task after I loaded a bunch of CDs to iTunes. I tried 'Backup' but this gives you the option to go to CDs or DVDs. I tried 'export' and I can only get 'Music.txt" to come up, and even it doesn't want to go to MY Book HD. I think its probably just me learning to g...

Mac.... browsing jpegs in a folder

Is there a way to do this? I seem to have to open a pic and then close it to open the next one. On the PC, windows Picture and Fax Viewer allows you to advance right through the entire contents.

Got it john! It printed a label I made up. It will not open a file of a CD that brought over from my PC. I assume I have to redo them from scratch on the Mac.
No problem if that's the case. I am just glad to be printing again.
Thanks John for your help.

I uninstalled the printer and then loaded the new drivers from the Epson web site. It still pushes the CD tray back at me. It wants me to close the CD door so it can print on regular paper.

Thanks John, That got me the program just fine. Now when I try to print a CD, it says the Epson driver for Print CD is not installed. new iMac

I made the move to a Mac intel, after many years of PC. Does anyone know of a card reader that will work with the new Mac? I bought one after being assured it was compatible.... it was not. Also, I don't have the 'Print CD' capabilities for my Epson printer now. Any advice for these two problems? Th...

It took years to learn your instrument, songs, practice, and experience...BUT it probably took that long for some of the DJers to learn to hit the "PLAY" button. Don't be so hard on 'em....dey got talent too!
Can't blame them I guess. They found the suckers to pay them.

Can't access Internet without reboot

For the last two days, if I leave my computer idle for a couple of hours, I can't access email or the net. I reboot and then it works. Two things are different in this time frame. I had a recent Windows Update and I replaced my hardwired router with a new wireless. My PC is still hard wired, I just ...

I see that some of you use this interface. I am thinking of this for more portability. I am curious about the "on screen" mixer or controls. Is this something that needs to be used? or can I just use my recording software and totally disregard the "on screen" controls?
Thanks

Thanks guys and your explanations are understandable. But, for an example, on the Peavey Tour 210, a bass cabinet, it says on the ad page...400 watts program power. Then, open the spec sheet and it says...Power Handling: 800 W program/ 1600W peak. It seems contradictive. I am not picking on Peavey b...

Speaker wattage

When looking at speakers, "RMS wattage" and "peak wattage" should be pretty easy to understand, but when I see "power handling wattage", "program wattage" etc., I don't know where this fits in. Is there a standard wattage that one should look for?
