Thanks for the info on the fuse. I had not looked it up yet. This amp is waaaay older than the one I fixed before. That one just had a cracked tube, a few bad caps and the speaker wiring was bad. I also had the schematic. I was going to write down all of the caps etc figuring it worked before, but n...

Hey, sorry for the delay. Also tried to do some research myself - let me know what I got wrong... Lots of pix, long post! http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1504/17384_DICKERSON_AMP_FACE_1.jpg 1. Not sure yet who actually made the amp. It has a Fators Mfg decal from 1944-1947, between Dickerson h...

Please call me K. Lot less typing that way. Yes, I did get it. I’m glad I contacted the seller, as it turned out eBay had the shipping calculated way way wrong! The set is already on its way and should be here Wednesday. I did find out some info on the tonebar. The patent application was filed in ...

First lap steel (newbie warning!)
Ok, here goes... I'm wanting to learn lap steel, and need to buy a good starter that I can play western swing, rockabilly, old time, bluegrass, etc. - basically 1900 to 1960 - and probably some more modern stuff once I get better at it. I have two kinds of advice so far: get a nice vintage because i...
