We go on at 7 PM for an hour set followed by the Outlaws. I previously posted information about our latest album, ...

Re: The Miners latest release....
I just downloaded "Megunticook" Sounds terrific! Whoever mixed this recording did an excellent job. The drum mix is superb! Nice Going Miners! Thanks Tom. I produced the album and mixed it with the engineer at a high end studio in Philly (MilkBoy). Basic tracks were recorded there and all...

Brilliant album Keith - One of them albums you just want to play steel along with it. Thanks for the kind words Gwyndaf. We have several DJs in the UK with Americana-shows that are into the album and our prior release. I certainly have pedal steel in mind for almost song I write so maybe that's why...

The Miners (new album with lots of PSG from forum members)
Not sure if this is the right forum to post. My band, The Miners, recently put out our new album called "Megunticook". We are an alt country/Americana band based in Philadelphia and the album is heavy on pedal steel, which is on 8 of the 10 tracks (the other two have slide guitar and dobro...

Re: 421
I love 421s on so many different instruments. It’s a great mic! Definitely one of my favorites for toms and horns as well as some guitars and more. Good for live or studio. Any thoughts on how the 441 compares? Thanks for sharing! Agree the 421 is the best for recording guitar amps including PSG....

Following up from my post earlier in this thread, I recently contacted Melissa with both an order question and inquiring about the missing page from one of my books, and she has been super-responsive (responding the same day and I have had severl subsequent emails with her) and she was very apologet...

I haven't either though I have ordered and received materials in the past two weeks. Melissa seems responsive if you want to buy something. Not so much if you have an issue (I've contacted her 2X about a missing page in a book with no response and others have had similar issues as noted in the For S...

Though when I have asked questions about purchasing products using the website contact page I have gotten responses. I only asked about the missing page through direct email s...

One other approach - stick with the C6. I came from guitar (30+ years) and then played some six string C6 lap steel for about a year before jumping into E9 pedal steel about 4 months ago (I picked up the lap steel with intention of going to 8 string lap and then E9 PSG but I skipped the interim step...

Having just been through the same process, I'll throw in my $.02, which is I wouldn't eliminate the Carter Starter if you can't find a reasonably priced Stage One or GFI. I was searching for a Stage One, GFI or Carter Starter (in that order) and ended with a CS. The main reason was because between t...
