Ok ...its official...... I want this guitar. Its sound is excellent in the capable hands of Kevin. I really like the concept of the aluminium sandwich and such an evocative shape. Love everything about it. You are a truly skilled artisan Bill....... Just beautiful!

As I understand it, Bud Tutmarc only used one tuning....C#m. I assume it would be a straight E major tuning with the 2nd string tuned up C#. EBEG#C#E low to high. I am not quoting with any authority here so if anybody knows better please chime in!

Great version Doug. This tune has been longing to get the Steel guitar version and I have been tempted on a few occasions to do it. But now I dont need to bother :D ! These 60s guitar instrumentals are a perfect fit for your style of playing and tone...... excellent. You should make an album of this...

Really lovely playing Kevin, The Gibson sounds fabulous and your playing is great. You are the king of the volume pedal for lap steel. So glad Bill got you to make a video...... its been too long since you last made one. You need to do more. I think Bill wanted you to do 10 videos so we can really g...

Bill I voted for Audiovox aluminium sandwich. I love everything about this guitar. But I also very much like the one next to it with the scroll fendery type headstock. This would make an ideal headstock for a 7 string guitar. I have never seen am aesthetically pleasing 7 string headstock, but I beli...

Hi Todd, The pickup was changed by a local pickup maker who lived close by me. He put the CC style pickup in because that is what he made. I believe he had to modify the pick up hole to fit his pickup. Unfortunately the pickup maker past away shortly after he fitted this pickup to the Epiphone. The ...

The little Epiphone is quite a nice little guitar, and I like it a lot. But the pickup on my model was very poor, and I replaced it almost immediately with a faux CC style pick up. I am not sure what the newer models are like but it is my view that this guitar will be improved immensely with any rea...

Great work Mike. I remember transcribing the four sections for classical guitar years back and know the problems you will have had with the 3rd and 4th sections. Not only the transcription but beautifully recorded and performed. This is as good as it gets. Kudos for playing it on Sol Hoopii's Bakeli...

I did not pick up on David Lindley's work as an electric Steel player until I started getting into the steel guitar a few years back. But well before that I had this album by Shawn Colvin called Fat City, which I just thought was fabulous and played it all the time when I got it in the early to mid ...
