Volume Pedal On Lap Steel

I am wondering if anyone uses a volume pedal on a Lap Steel? I don't know much about them and I see on Amazon there are quite the price range. Just for home use if it's something I should give a try, are the cheapies Junk?

Starting From Scratch

I have played regular guitar for 50 some years and now I sit down with this Lap Steel and UFFDA NIDDA I feel like a bull in a china cupboard. Picks on the thumb and two fingers don't know what they're doing. That chunk of steel bar sounds like a sick bee. Good Lord how do you get things to come toge...

Ease of Playing Scale Length

I haven't seen anything on what scale length is easiest to play. Maybe there's no difference??? I built my first Lap Steel to a 24.5 scale and now thinking of another go at it. This time I'm thinking should I go with a 22" or stay with the middle of the road scale size. Any thoughts???

Volume Pedals

I have never owned or used a volume pedal before and I'm not sure what I'm looking at when I shop for one. I don't want to break the bank as I'm on a fixed income but would like to add one to my Lap Steel. (I think) What experience does anyone have with these. There are some used ones on Evil Bay th...

I bought some non slip stair tread with stick on back. My underside is wood and putting this on really makes it stay put.

I am going to string up for C6 tuning as what I've found it has more information about learning to play as you mention. I would like to find something on line for lessons aimed at beginners with all the basics

New To The Steel Guitar

I have played the 6 string guitar since I was 12. I'm not a lead player by any means but have played in several country groups as a rhythm and vocal player, over the years. These were local area groups and it was an enjoyable time in my life. I have always loved the sound of the steel guitar in coun...
