My best friend for 50 years. He always found time for me in my formative years and throughout the rest of the 50 year friendship, as busy as he could be with his pattern shop, "Vollmer Patterns", his band "the Outlaws" and of course, his wonderful family. Best man at my wedding. ...

Thank you bOb for the creation of the forum which united us globally forever. Your work will go on to future generations of pedal steel guitar players and unite, inform and inspire them as it did for us. Thank you so much.

Putting the bar down

Jack, the COVID has ruined a lot of musicians fun. At 71, in my retirement town of Payson, Arizona, there is little left to do for a steel player, unless one wants to engage the local out of time, tune and too loud jam sessions. My Steel has set with a cover on it going on 2 years in the music room;...

He was such a nice person to deal with for Emmons parts. We traded some pedals about 2 years ago, as he had what my requirements were and I had want he needed. Totally trustworthy man.

Sad News

My ears remember listening to Chubby at Scotty's over the many years of my attendance. One time, while traveling through Ohio on the way from Pennsylvania to Arizona by I70 and flipping through some local stations after getting tired of XM and the Cd's, Chubby came across the airwaves with a steel g...

Steel Players
