My 22.5 Deluxe 8 (which might be 1957 ish?):
2.5†high to the top of the knobs, 1 3/4" body wood
30 3/4†long
6 1/2†wide at lower bout
From looking at pictures it looks like some of the Champs have a little more meat on them.

Lo to Hi: G,Bb,C,E,G,B,D,G. Jerry My current 8 string tuning is very similar, Jerry! Except I moved the C down to the bottom (with a .070 gauge). It's been pretty fun to have that low rumbling C every now and then, but your version would be more accomodating to melodic stuff on the low strings. I'l...

Before I got 8 strings (and then pedal) I used this tuning quite a bit (low to high): G B D F# A D Technically it would be Gmaj9 chord, but it is also a D6 with a 4th on the bottom. It has three triads built in, plus you can get some suspensions with string pulls. The major triad in the middle facil...

I have a Fender Deluxe 8. Before I bought it, I already had a Deluxe 34 Streamliner stand (from the same maker Bill refers to). The Deluxe 34 standard legs are 1/2 inch #13 thread (not the same as his stringmaster legs). Based on some forum advice I got inserts to adapt the Deluxe 34 legs to the soc...

Just throwing this idea out there: what about using the power section of one of the amps, and switching between preamps by using the effects loops and an A/B box? Say the Carvin was going to be the power amp source for the speaker. Run the steel into the Carvin, then run out of the Carvin effect sen...

I love how much amusement Jerry gets out of his multi-level stool situation. Here's a good companion piece (with B.B. King!) Jerry found his shoes for this one, and there's a closeup on the steel solo.

The bass player is Daniel Kimbro from Knoxville, TN. I've been lucky to be friends and bandmates with him here and there over the years. http://danielkimbro.com That upcoming Jerry Douglas band record is going to be great. Y'all non-pedal steelers might also enjoy Daniel's two duo albums with Britis...
