pedal change g and b
I am such a newbie to the pedal steel. If I am on my 4th fret that is an G# or Ab chord not a Bb chord. Sorry. Now you know why I definitely need to simplify things. LOL

day set up and g# to g and B to Bd
After tuning up my new set up, I have discovered several other things that I can do very easily. IF I depress pedal 4 and 5 it gives me the minor and flat 5 of what ever fret I am on. If I am on the 4th fret and I press the pedals I now have a Bb minor b5 chord. Pressing the pedals also gives me the...

move to day pedal set up and G# to G Bto A#
I posted several days ago about wanting to lower the g# string a half step and lower the b string a half step on pedal 4 for the G# and pedal 5 for the B. I also am changing to the Day set up so I can get the 3rd pedal to be the b. So the pedals now look like this 1 E to F# and B to C# 2 G# to A 3 B...

Thank you for all the quick replies. It boggles my mind how many ways you can do something with this instrument. I come at this from playing the dobro and the blues that is why i was so interested in the half step drop in string 3 and six. I believe I will drop string 6 but leave 3 alone. I like Ric...

lowering strings 6 and 3 a half step to make minors
I have been looking at changing my pedals and levers to match what I think I want to do. The first major change is to lower string 3 and 6 a half step. This would allow me to play minors so much easier because of the way I think. In addition you can get that bluesy sound of sliding from a flat 3rd t...

1956 best i can tell Fender Lap Steel for sale
I have what I believe to be a 1956 Fender Lab Steel for sale. This was owned by a friend of mine. When he had to go to assisted living he got it out and tried to play it. The volume button was not working and when you plug the chord in it would cut on and off. I offered to have it fixed. Here is wha...

Bob, I am such a newbie, I do not fully understand what you are telling me. I will be more than happy to take a photo of the underside and post it, if that will help. I am looking for some help in identifying the Fender Lap Steel in the photos. This belongs to a 90+ year old friend of mine. He says he bought it when he was around 22. I have included the photo of the headstock, the fretboard and the guitar. I cannot find any numbers of any kind on it. I am getting...

does anyone use the fishman acoustic amp with their lap stee
I have a blackbeard dobro that I use on stage. I want to expand and play a lap steel on stage. Can I use the fishman acoustic amp with the Rouge lap steel or will this destroy my fishman? Can I use a DI box to get around any issues with the lap steel.
thanks,
