The same clean lick
The most honest Steel Player I ever met. That's saying a lot.
I'll treasure our short acquaintance and all you taught me.
Go ahead and play it a different way. RIP

Tom's writing style is so much like Maurice Anderson's, it's almost as if there's been a re-incarnation!
Only a tad too much self-deprecation .
Much tanks for this and everything else.

Thank you b0b.
A lot of steel players were at the TSGA this weekend so you'll probably see a bunch of condolences today.
Absolute Best Wishes and Prayers for b0b's family and all close to him. A REAL legacy.

lefty/righty Fender
Try taking a close look at that Fender S10. My 1st Steel.
From the logo and keyhead placement, it's right-handed.
The pedals though, are right foot or left-handed.
Is it just put together wrong? I wonder if it plays that way.
Very Interesting. I'm gonna bid on the Ric.

Had a U12 to look at.
Be hard to pull a deal together unless you want to bring it to the Dallas show.

RKL is OK
My U12 ExStar from Fuzzy Steel Guitars has the E-lower on RKL. What some call Sho-Bud setup. I have other guitars setup like this and I'm just used to it. If you have the E9/C6 shift lever you sorta need to decide if you want to use that or E-Lower/B6 mode. The 6th pedals can't tune/work correctly i...

You need a geardown
Sure does. A .010 gauge string stretches twice as far as a .020 to achieve the same pitch change. MSA (Bud Carter and Maurice probably) and others solved this issue years ago with a geardown. Take a look at this rodding chart for a U12 where string 10 is also raised a half-step. It uses an extra cro...

Finish as an exercise
Charts w/o measures and timing are handicapped I know. The picking pattern is what's important here but... Here's what I get from the version with Tony Rice.... Pretty much repeats after this. Thanks for this song. I just learned it on Mandolin and it's sweet... https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userp...

Error!
These posters are pretty cool but somehow Jimmy Day became Jimmi Sun in the left hand column. (3rd sentence from the end) Bad translation and poor proofreading I guess.

Doug,
I play more of your arrangements than any other steel guitar teacher. Andy V. is a close second. Please keep up the good work!
