Definitely an OD for base sounds and a fuzz for heavier stuff. I also too have one delay before reverb and another after when I want the delay to be less "smeary". One of the reverbs I use has an effects loop and I often run another light OD and delay (for reverse) in that loop. The OD giv...

FS: Red Iron Amps Pedal Push-R tube buffer--**SOLD**

Pedal friendly tube buffer. Three settings are C=light compression (neutral), F=Fender (dark) and M=Marshall (bright). Totally fuzz friendly and makes everything after it sound better. Great for pedal and lap steel. Plenty of volume on tap. This particular unit has a built-in transformer for US/UK/E...

The Strymon Iridium is really good. I've had it for a week and had a shoot out with some other cab devices and it won out. Nice for recording at home at reasonable volume.

No offense intended but the Mystery Brain 301 is far from the best analog tape delay emulator I've heard (and I listened to MANY clips last night). I would suggest doing a lot of homework before diving in and spending money on anything or any pedal frankly and seeing what works for you... I assume ...

I have an issue with calling any digital delay a "tape delay". They aren't tape delays. Strymon calls the DSP involved with the El Capistan dTape. Good pedal, but not a tape delay, nor are they selling it as a true tape delay, or even a true bucket-brigade analog delay. Without any consid...

Yeah, I dig. I did. Like I said, it's super cool but in the end I found better choices for me.

I've tried a bunch of different delays. I dig the El Cap but eventually got frustrated with the artifacts (though it's quite good, don't get me wrong). My favorite delays are the Analogman (you can look for the smaller AR20DL that pops up from time to time used that's half the price of the big box d...

Monsterpiece is a super great and very affordable choice. I love everything he does from OD's to fuzzes. His Bosstone is tops in my book and I've tried many. Unreal build quality all around.

I used mine very modestly. Attack around 10 o'clock, release 1 or 2 o'clock. Compression low around 2:1 and I use the clean blend at 50/50 (if you have the one with clean blend). Hope that helps.

A really terrific new device for both delay and reverb is the Poly Effects Digit. You can have up to four delays and real convolution reverbs. My favorites were the aforementioned AKG spring and the EMT plates. I even did a bunch of presets for the builder when he was in Nashville for SNAMM. Highly ...

The problem was not necessarily with the gears in the DOD volume and EXP mini pedals. The issue is that the factory in Korea was supposed to put lithium grease on the gear shafts before shipping. After about a hundred or so presses the gears will snap or go off the rails. It can be solved by taking ...
