If it's the show at the Merry Go Round Playhouse, it should be Skip Krevins on steel. He called me to fill in for one date on the show, but I had a conflict and couldn't take it. He's an excellent steel player (and guitar player) from Long Island, NY and experienced with the show. The actress playin...

Congratulations on your well deserved induction to the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame! Thanks for signing the steel show poster for me. Our friend, David Kraai, gave it to me last week at a gig, and it put a smile on my face.

I double on fiddle and steel (Thank you, John for your kind words). It has helped me make things work as a full time player from my base in Woodstock, NY and has given me the opportunity to play steel with some of my favorite fiddle players and vise versa. Certainly, playing fiddle in the back up ba...

I just measured my LTD 400, bought new in 1978. It weighs 50lbs with the stock 15" speaker, marked only Peavey Black Widow. The dimensions are 20" high x 20" wide by 11" deep on the bottom. The top is only 9 1/2" deep so the speaker baffle is slanted and the speaker aims up ...

Mike, I'm looking forward to seeing you again and hearing your set. I haven't seen Matt for several years and he'll be a treat as well. He's someone who takes his music seriously, with a great sense of humor! It should be a fine show again this year with it's great lineup, but we sure will miss Herb...

John is both an excellent player and steel technician! I bought my Zum from him around 1995 and it was set up just right. A few years ago he adjusted it and it felt like velvet again, after many gigs. His playing, both traditional and "out of the box" is just superb. I'm very happy that we...

Sorry Doug,

I didn't see your reply when I posted the previous message.

I started playing with the backup band guys in May of '79 so it was before that date. I know I wouldn't have missed it if I had known about it.

Doug, you were missed in Norwalk this past November show!

I believe the year of this show would have been 1978 (possibly 1977 or early 79) and it was put on by Harry Guffee and probably in or near Meriden, CT. The backup band was the Harmony Grits Band which I joined after this show sometime in 1979, a band later which split to form the Dixie Doughboys. It...
