Wd-40

You will want to clean the surface with an to remove the oily residue after using WD-40 before trying to get anything to stick to the surface.

Practice tips for new players

As far as lightening the load I had an older Wilcox steel which wasn't a bad steel, but heavy. The case for it was even heavier so I decided to go to split cases. That reduced the load for the guitar, but having a case for the pedal bar and rods made the total load heavier. Then I got an Emmons LLG2...

At first I had quite a time getting used to them, but now they seem like second nature. Took a while, but now they are the only way I play.

Peavey NV400 reverb

The reverb on my NV400 quit working. It started with a hum that increased in volume until it was very loud then quit. Now it was completely dead. Not having much electronic talent, I replaced the reverb tank with a MOD replacement. It still doesn't work, but hums when I try to use it. I'm guessing n...

Spark Amp

For Ron Hogan. Ron, your clips sound terrific, but try as I may I can't seem to get my Spark to sound right. Strings 1 thru 3 always sound tinny, even though the strings 4 thru 10 sound fine. I've tried about every setting on the amp, but the top three strings still sound tinny. There's gotta be som...

expanding foam

I like the looks of that case. Where can it be purchased and approx. what is the weight. My Emmons case weighs 19.2 lbs. and my Rittenberry case weighs 21.2 lbs. A lighter case would be great.

seat backrest

I have backrests on both of my Steelers Choice seats. One came with a backrest and I built the backrest for the other one. I did make the backrests higher so it came to the middle of my back and angled them back more. The original backrest seemed to be pushing me off the seat. After an hour, or so w...

removing decal

Actually a heat gun will do a great job of softening the adhesive and the decal can be peeled right off. for the adhesive. WD40 works great and it's something most people have on the shelf.

In my lifetime I have purchased ten six string guitars, one laptop and three pedal steels. Hmm, I wonder what that adds up to.

warm up

When I first sit down to play (I use the term very loosely) I go through the grips several times. My playing sucks and my tone is awful, but I still love doing it. As an aside, I have a beautiful Emmons Lashley Legrand II and a Rittenberry ultra light. Both play great, but the Rittenbery seems to fi...

This sample sounds great, as did the previous ones. I bought a Spark amp, but can't get it to sound like your examples. Apparently I haven't found the proper settings yet. Mine sounds thin and tinny. Also is there any way to connect the amp to an external speaker

practice times

When I sit down at the guitar my practice is usually to learn a new (to me) song. I go to youtube and find a version I like, then try to how to play it. I find myself continually stopping the video and backing up to see "how he did that". Sometimes the practice session can go on for one, o...

seats with backrest

I have two Steeler's Choice seats, one had a backrest and the other didn't. I felt I needed a backrest, but the standard backrest wasn't high enough to give proper support and it felt like it was actually pushing me off the seat. I made a new, longer backrest and angled it back a bit. It felt great,...

I tried the website and got absolutely nowhere. I would like to know where to buy one and what the cost is. It looks like it would be relatively lightweight and much easier to carry around than my MV 400.

NV112 original speaker

I have been thinking about installing and a lighter speaker in my NV112. After several inquires about what speaker would work best I thought I'd better actually look at the amp to see what was in it now (the amp was used bought from a forum member). It turns out that the current amp is an 'Eminence ...
