Adding an armrest

Advice needed on adding an armrest to a Fender Artist Student model 3P+1KB. Should the top be mounted level with the strings, level with the fretboard or at some other level. Suggested width of arm rest would be appreciated also (4"....6")?

Best Effect for a PSG

What suggestions do you have for the best (and hopefully least expensive) effect for a PSG. I believe I have a Fender Artist Student model, ABC pedals and 1 knee bar (RKR).I currently have a Boss DDR-3, but it doesn't give the sound I want (sustain, full). I'm using E9 tuning.

Jim: Thanks for the comprehensive look. I believe the only rotational restraint (axle torsion) at each end would be from friction of the axle in the mount. I did the calculations using tension forces on each string assuming D'Adario string gauges and came up with nearly the same maximum bending mome...

Reaction force in axle depends upon string material, and whether plain or wound. Also, reaction force in axle depends upon whether tuning arm is supported by a push/pull rod or merely a stop. Also, hopefully the axle rod is Stainless Steel with an Fy of 50 ksi. It still may be slightly overstressed ...

Help for aging SG players

As I age, I'm finding that I'm having issues with my picking hand (right hand). Is there any hope for issues such as twitching thumbs, twitching fingers or the shakes? Left hand is no issue. Anybody out there with similar issues? If so, please free to suggest solutions. It may be a neurological issu...

Lane/Jordan:
Thanks for the advice. I agree that the task might be too expensive and that push-pull requires different levers and setup. Guess I'll sell my student model and get a P3 4 KB PSG.

Adding Knee Bars to a Fender Sho-Bud Artist student model

I have 3 pedals and 1 knee bar (RKR). I would like to add 3 other pedals (RKL, LKL, AND LKR. I will need to buy knee bars, knee bar brackets, the push rods, plastic nuts, and metal clamps. Does anyone have a source for those parts. I can do the install myself. Don't be put off by the paper fretboard...
