The Dopro brothers got in a fight long ago and they split up and one stayed with the biscuit cone and the other named his guitar Dobro and made the spider cone. It was louder and not so fragile. It has been that way since.

I am making a guitar for Norman Hamlet that has LED lights at each fret marker and will lite upwith a switch. Right now it is to bright so will soffen it with a bigger resister.

I had a piano tuner tell me that the higher up the pitch you tune sharper as the ear hears flatter. Is our ear right or the tuner? Just a question?

You only need to worry about the computation of the bridge when you are fretting the strings like on a round neck as you are stretching the string and that makes it out of tune. Using the bar you don't stretch one string.

The original was done on a trumpet but yours is every bit as good.

It is a song not heard enough.

Most people try to play it very fast and that is not the way I remember it.

Most any hard plastic will work. Bakelite or brass. Corian counter top plastic is nice.

Your idea of pressing on the other side of the nut is a common thing and. If the string is larger than the slot it will not slide through the slot smooth. I want some good oil for the old tuners like on Stells from the 30 and Klusons enclosed. Nothing seems to work good.

I lube a lot all the parts and through the peg head and use my power string winder but I am not satisfied .

There is no one with as sweet a voice and no effort to sing as Ray except maby Eddie Arnold. To bad he has lost his voice. Don't know how old he is ether.

Tune the Dobro up to full pitch and loosen the screw until it starts to buzz then go 1/2 turn until it stops bussing then 1/4 turn . It may buzz later as it settles in than give it 1/4 turn to stop than 1/4 turn extra. Over tighten bends the cone and it needs a new cone.
