I have the same problem with my Stringmaster case. I heard that coffee will absorb smells, much like baking soda. Of course then your guitar will smell like coffee instead of an old guitar.

Ricky, I seem to prefer having the E for the highest string to get one more low note for those huge chords. Is this is the case what do you suggest? Why does Morrell use an E D E on the bottom? What is the advantage of the G# on top? Sorry foa all the questions. Brian

Webb 6-14 near mint condition

I'm parting with my Webb 6-14 amp which is in like-new condition. The amp is burgundy tolex and all original except for the speaker, which has been replaced with a Peavey Black Widow before I owned it. This speaker which is extremely clean but less brittle than a JBL and lighter too. Amp comes with ...

Tweed case on ebay

Has anyone seen the 1949 vintage tweed case on ebay? It should go to someone here who needs it. Brian

Webb 6-14 amp, what's it worth?

I am thinking of selling a Webb 6-14 amp that is about 8-10 years old. It has maroon tolex, is all original except the 15" JBL has been replaced by a Black Widow. It's in near mint condition with cover and reverb control still in bag. A friend wants to buy it and give me a fair price. What is i...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned a Webb. I use a Webb 6-14 with a Black Widow 15" speaker which gives a less brittle tone than the stock JBL and makes the amp lighter too boot.

Sorry, I was going from memory but after checking my notes I see the s/n is 016. I still have not seen it yet but think I will keep my frypan in any event.

Jeff, how right you are. I have never seen 'Made In THE USA' and perhaps it was reserved for exports. My book on vintage guitar dating does say that some Gibsons had 'Made In USA' on the headstock as early as the 1950s. I would call George Gruhn in Nashville. He would probably know the story. Good l...

Jeff, I have owned many archtops including vintage Gibsons and Epiphones. I don't recall any Gibsons having 'Made In USA' stamped on the headstock except ones made after 1970. Is it possible the 1948 L-7 you describe was re-necked after the 1960s?

Thanks again for you input. I have regretted a few sales in the past and know this frypan is irreplaceable. I've tried to include a pic of it though the light is terrible. Nope, it doesn't work. Any advice how to add a pic. Then I can show this frypan. Thanks.

Thanks oj....and everybody else. I can't wait to play this guitar and see what it sounds like. It probably won't be until the weekend or next before I do but I will let you know. I have a guitar I am trading for the Sierra which I am reluctant to part with. It's a solid aluminum frypan, milled not c...
