Slight Sticking at Half Stop Return
Hey all, I'm a player that spends the vast majority of my time looking at the top of my guitar and very little at the undercarriage and was looking for some advice. I've been having a slight issue with my RKL lever that raises my 1st string a full tone. After I raise and then release it (which I do ...

Longer bar
Thank you for the response. Yeah I have some pretty large hands and considered trying a twelve string bar as the one I'm using seemed pretty small. It's a ten string, 7/8'' BJS. I will watch the Franklin video when I get home from work.

Bar grip
Hi guys, I've been playing for a few years and consider myself fairly intermediate. I've worked lots on right hand technique and have gotten fairly decent at my palm blocking. This weekend I got together with a pedal steel friend of mine who has many more years under his belt then I and when we got ...

Loving my Mullen Pre G2 Royal Precision
Hi guys, Just wanted to quickly share my praise for this Mullen Pre G2 Royal Precision I received from the Mullen shop. I already own a SD-10 Mullen G2, but I was in the market for my first D10 to get started on. Reading through comparisons on this forum I had almost convinced myself I had to have a...

Thanks for the responses
Thanks for the input all. I will buy myself a D10. Question being when and how expensive to go. I see there's a nice used Mullen Royal Precision on the Mullen site with a warranty on it which would probably do me for my purposes. When I search this forum though it seems everyone pushes for the G2. I...

Owning a second steel for "back up"
I admittedly have a history of Gear Acquisition syndrome. When I get it in my head that I want something new I'll look for any good excuse to pull the trigger on a new purchase and justify it using whatever means necessary to put my mind at ease  . I have a nice Mullen SD 10 G2 that I bought us...

I'll have a few too many drinks a few times a year but I am definitely not a regular drinker. I don't smoke and I actually don't even eat meat (vegetarian). Again, this was more out of curiosity because I seem to be the only one I know in the scene here that has this issue. I don't even consider it ...

I used to burn through those Schubb plated dobro tone bars far too quickly and realized I had to switch over to stainless just because they were getting too expensive. I've got a BJS tone bar for my steel now and it seems to be holding up well. Interesting about the sheep skin and oil. I may look in...

Acidic Sweat
This is just out of curiosity, but I was wondering if anybody has issues with the sweat from their hands taking chrome off of their instruments? I'm a dobro player and if you look at the plate on my resonator the chrome is all but stripped right off where my right hand makes contact. This didn't hap...

Keeping an eye out for a great condition MSA studio pro
I've been keeping my eye open for an MSA Studio Pro. Preferably D-10. In top condition. They don't seem to be for sale too often and I may have to eventually bite the bullet and go new, but thought I'd see if anyone had or knew of someone that has a Studio Pro they were looking to move.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Wow. Very interesting to see so many! Didn't know Lloyd and Curly were lefties, as well. While given time I think you can workout whatever style or licks you like I can't help but think in an improve situation a lefty might favour certain types of licks to the strength in their bar hand over a right...

Lefties that play right
Hi there, I'm a left handed player that plays a right handed pedal steel guitar. Years ago I asked my first lap steel teacher if I should restring my steel left handed as I did my spanish style upright guitar and he told me it's better I learn right handed. Easier to find and sell steels when I get ...

Knee lever not tuning.
Hi guys, I feel like this must have been addressed somewhere on the forum, but I can't seem to word my search correctly to find a solution. Disclaimer I'm also not much of a mechanical mind so if this is a simple solution in front of my face, I apologize. I have a good conditioned Mullen G2 that I b...

No, it wasn't Al Brisco from Steel Guitars of Canada. I believe his last name Antos. Nice guy. Just lost touch with him. My thoughts are perhaps the gig is a lot of work without much financial gain unless you can pump them out in more an assembly line fashion and maybe he had a change of heart? Just...

I had contact with Ed before he passed and had a guitar on order. When he was in the hospital I reached a fella named Al who said he was helping Ed in his shop. Al also said in the event of Ed's passing he would continue to build under the name. However, after a few emails and attempts to reach Al o...
