Topic: Session 500 Remote Switch Cable Length?

Thanks for the replies. The reverb connection is driven by a 1K ohm impedance, so I'll do a frequency sweep on the cable for that conductor with that impedance to be sure the bandwidth is still acceptable for a 20 ft. length. I just didn't want to make it shorter than the factory original.

Session 500 Remote Switch Cable Length?

I'm making a remote leg switch for my Session 500 (never had the original switch). Can someone tell me the cable length on the factory original?

To me,the Forum is worth at least as much as a typical magazine subscription.
Go figure, and send b0b a check.

Try www.switchcraft.com/
Switchcraft makes some quality versions of the phone plug and jack that you won't find anywhere else.
BTW, they have a phone plug with a shorting switch built in that opens only when the plug is inserted in the jack all the way. Eliminates popping.

SGF Mugs

Some time back b0b mentioned that he had cases of the SGF mugs on hand. So this year I included an additional $10 with my annual donation with a request for a mug. Well, it arrived today, and it is much better looking than the photo. It is a pleasant rust color, not the bright red it appears on the ...

Handling a D-10 in its case, loading it in and out of the car trunk, and on and off a dolly has been a problem for me. I recently bought some 2-inch wide nylon web strapping at a sporting goods store and made two closed loops by sewing the ends together. The loops are made large enough to go around ...

My experience with this problem in a Session 500 is described in this thread: http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum11/HTML/000260.html I think Peavey does not worry about this problem because, in the Session 500 at least, there is a current limiting circuit in the output amplifier. ------------------ -D...

If that's a WM-6C, it's a nice recorder, definitely worth restoring. Sorry to hear it stopped working. I have had excellent results with Sony electronic repairs at their regular service centers, and the prices have been reasonable, even for old equipment. They also have had available, for a price, s...

Terry: You might consider the Switchcraft Model 172 or 181 Phone plug. These little known plugs are all metal, have a good strain relief built-in, and have a shorting feature which uses a little button in front which keeps the cable shorted until it is fully seated. This permits the cable to be inse...

Yes, poor terminology. In my last post, it should be "connecting two 100K resistors in series between the +52 and -52 volt supplies"

Keith: As my post says, I placed another resistor (1.8K ohms) across the positive bleeder (1K), thus decreasing the total resistance, and discharging the positive supply faster. I determined the relative rates of discharge by connecting two 100K resistors in series across the + and - supplies, and m...

Session 500 goes POP after shut-down

I don't know if this is a common problem or not, but I'm posting this on the chance someone else is experiencing the same problem. Some time ago I purchased my first amplifier, a Session 500, Mk. IV. I like the amplifier, but about ten seconds after switching it off, a very loud POP came from the sp...

Len: Spring reverbs are adjusted at the factory for the expected mounting position. This is done to ensure the little torsion magnets that generate and pick up the motion are centered between the pole pieces under the influence of gravity. Other considerations aside, I think the manufacturers of the...
