Dennis, thanks so very much for your help. That stuff looks exactly like what I've been looking for.

I've got tons of guitar stuff, if you're ever looking for anything, let me know...

If they have been Loctited, heat will help. A good hot lighter flame is all you need. Otherwise, you may be able to get it to turn. Douse it with PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench, let it soak, and repeat several times. You don't want to hold the rod with pliers, a vise is a much better option. Use a coup...

Would wire markers work? If so pm me your info and I'll send you a few sheets.

I've checked with Steel Guitars of North County, he suggested Michael Yahl. Michael isn't building racks yet, but apparently they're coming in the future. I'm not at the point where I want to mix in modern parts yet. I've made the rods I need, I can make all the little brackets and stuff, if you've ...

I do a lot of Allen Bradley controls at work, and I don't recognize that as an AB part number. Figuring out the taper of the pot is easy. Set the shaft to the mid point of its travel, you don't have to be terribly accurate about this. Measure the resistance from the middle lug to one of the outside ...

Sho Bud Parts Wanted - Levers. etc

I've got a Baldwin era Sho Bud Pro 1 that has three pedals and one lever. I'd like to add two more levers, I need levers, racks and all the little pieces. Let me know what you have...

Thanks, William. That's what I wanted to hear. Scrounging parts and patience are something I'm pretty good at, so it seems like a good match.

I've got to admit, though, that kitchen counters have a certain appeal to me, for other reasons, of course. Just another of my many vices.

Fantastic! Thanks for the detailed help on the questions I asked, and also the history of this guitar, it's older than I thought it was. I've played the guitar for 40+ years, and to a lesser degree things like bass, banjo, mandolin, etc. I've got some musical experience, so I know that you can make ...

Sho Bud Pro 1 Project - Help With Some Details

Hello, all. Been lurking for a while and gathering information while I work on this beast. It's a Sho Bud Pro 1 with one of those mysterious 7000 serial numbers. This is my first experience with a pedal steel, and it seems I've jumped into the deep end. It came to me as a semi-basket case, the conso...
