I would say the extra plates are for the adjustable return springs a great idea

I have and use the Quilter Steelaire I highly recommend it. I have used all the Peaveys vegas, session 500, nashville 400 nashville 112, and a fender steel king. I think it is miles ahead of them all.

AJM That is correct. I think Sho Bud put the e lower on the rnl when they only had 1 lever. It is very easy to change it to what ever you would like.
