Liftkits
Has anyone used these kits from Bobbe Seymour (http://www.steelguitar.net/) The legs on my steel extend further than the pedal rods will cope with and these look to be cheaper (and easier to ship) than getting new rods from Sierra - plus I can keep them if I ever get a different guitar.<font size=&q...

I think it's the Kronenberg ad where the guy wanders round trying to find a seat to enjoy his pint in peace. The track sounds great, it's got that lovely directness you get from earlier country tracks. I'm not knocking modern Nashville musicians at all as there are clearly some amazing players worki...

Thanks Jerry, it's interesting to hear your views on keeping it the same. I've got the Newman Universal video course and the way he explains the setup makes so much sense I wanted to try it. I'm certainly not an experienced enough player to dismiss the Sierra setup and I'm sure there's a lot to reco...

Thanks for the replies. Basically, my copedent is the standard Sierra universal, you can see it here (this is the steel I bought from Scott Swartz on the forum a couple of years ago): http://msswartz.tripod.com/Sierra_U12.htm I want to change it to something more like the Newman U12 setup. Basically...

Copedent changes
Hi, I have a Sierra Crown gearless U12 with 8&5 and I need to change the copedent. I'm not adding anything new but I want to move a couple of pedals and knee levers around. I've never done anything like this before so I'm slightly nervous about getting halfway through and ending up with a pile o...

One-off lap steel bought on Ebay
I bought this oddity off Ebay recently for £4.99 as a bit of a blind gamble: Auction on eBay. Just arrived today so I'm keen to get it home, re-string it and see how it goes. I've never played lap steel before so should be interesting! Matt <font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align...

I'm not sure I'd use the word snob, but it seems a shame to miss out on so much music simply because it doesn't have a certain instrument in it. As a musician I often find the most pleasure in hearing things from one genre of music and seing how they might work in another. I love steel guitar but I ...

McIntyre pickup
Hi,
I've got a McIntyre dobro pickup (the kind which sticks to the spider, not the newer one) and I wondered which way up it's supposed to go or if it matters (dumb question maybe but I don't have the fitting instructions that go with it).
Thanks in advance,
Matt
