Jerry Byrd Dates in Honolulu

My friend is traveling to Hawaii on March 16th for ten days. I was wondering if anybody knew if jerry will be playing during this period. I told her he was not to be missed if possible. Thanks

Does anybody know if he will be performing between March 15th and the 23rd? I have a friend visiting Honolulu and I told she would have to check out Jerry. Happy Birthday Jerry!

Info on National Double 8

I'm just getting back to playing lap steel after some time. I saw a 1940's? National Double 8 in my local shop going for $250. Does anybody know about the quality of these? It's mustard yellow, got the colored markers on the fretboard and has covers for the tuning pegs
Thanks -Sean

Ted,
I'm new to the forum, but you came up with a great idea. I wonder how easy it would be to specifcally contour the foam depending on what a person needs: e.g.: A person likes to have the lap extended out a bit more than usual. Since the shape is not responsible for the sonic quality.

Beginner question: Scales? any practice methods

I just switched over from guitar to lap steel. It makes sense to me to start learning the major, blues, and other scales up and dowm the neck. Are there any good practices for doing this. For example one sound I love is to slide into a scale note from the next subsequent note. Sounds similar to some...
