Great responses guys. Sound like the microphonics wont ever become a bad problem and likely sound good due to it having that characteristic
Thanks, JB

Emmons single coil going microphonic
Hi guys, Happy Thanksgiving. My 1974 emmons pp sounds absolutely great. It feels alive and has so much warm and punch. Really has great character. That being said, if I leave the volume pedal all the way down and press pedals I can hear it ever so slightly through the amp if I mute the strings. And ...

Interesting Georg. That sounds like it would work well. When I loosened the screws and resnugged then, I am pretty confident in saying its tight enough not to rattle by resonating in contact with other parts. By all means I do not think they ought to be about ready to jiggle out loose, but not to th...

I was able to purchase a Raytheon tube. The Older ones that were made in the United states, and all I can say was it was the right one for what I wanted. Some others I tried, not so much. Try a few, as you can when you get the opportunity and have the money to. One day you'll find that right tube an...

Yes Tommy. Would be nice to hear what the others say. My guitar sounded good before, but it added a nice smooth coating on top of it all(on e9th, c6 however it completely changed for the better). With further experimenting, I did the same with the end plates ( which screws were very tight) and did n...

Loosening screws on Emmons pp neck
I know this has been stated before, but I am a believer now. This is what happened, by reading all the post on emmons guitars good vs bad ect. I thought heck, I'll try loosening up the neck screws to see if that does any thing. Well I tried it. Loosened all the screws, gave the neck a little wiggle(...

Pickup post
Due to a recent about an emmons pickup with white around the post, I looked at min and noticed something kinda similar. I noticed a almost glue like substance on one side of the pole, but on 2 of the poles it was cracked out. Is this normal and okay? As far as I know it has original emmons pu's http...

Putting bib files onto cd
This might be a dumb question, but I can't figure it out. I want a few files on a cd disk so I can play them on a CD player, to where I do not need the software to run it

It's a fairly new speaker, and I keep in pretty clean. I'll try that though. at pre 5 post 5 I know I will not have any problems at all. It's the 7 where it starts getting iffy. If that's normal for an older amp then maybe i don't have a problem at all. I'm still not sure if I'll be loud enough, the...
