I use a tc Flashback mini on the gig. Set the three knobs at c. 10 o’clock for a great delay sound with one repeat for pedal steel. Dial in a little reverb from your amp. It’s simple, straightforward and lets your steel’s tone shine through.

8 ohm speaker in 4 ohm amp

I agree with Henry Matthews. I have an 8 ohm Eminence neo speaker in my Nashville 400 and the volume difference is negligible. The tone, however, is superb.

I was quoted $2,800 for a brand new keyed SD-10 PSG from a relatively new entry brand at the TSGA Jamboree in I...

Mitsuo and his Excel guitars

Beautifully engineered and great sounding guitars with so smooth pedals and levers and very light ,too. Easy to communicate with the company, too.

Excel pedal steel guitar

I own a 2005 SD-10 E9 Excel 3+5 guitar, bought used. It was custom built by Mitsuo Fujii in Tokyo for a very well known female English steelie. As a guitar, it's up there with the best- light weight, mechanically very smooth, a fine piece of high- precision engineering and has incredibly stable tuni...

I live in Ireland and I extend my sincere condolences to the late Tom's family. I bought two covers from Tom and on both occasions he followed the shipping up with a personal message. Quite a gentleman. Rest in peace, Tom.

I agree with many of the posts on this topic. I've been practising assiduously since taking up the PSG in August 14, and learned enough on it to go out on a gig. I've since joined a band and my standard of playing has progressed far beyond where I would have been had I stayed playing at home. I live...
